Since the conversion we experienced our first taste of oscillating coils a. k. a. Death Wobble. Happens with horse trailer at the same speed 45mph, same road with bumps. Slow down and it recovers itself.

I do not beleive my caster was adjusted at the frame and spring shop due partially to my rushing it out the door, as I needed it for the weekend and they were closing on that Saturday at noon.

Today I spoke with a rock climber guy in customer service at Rocky Mountain Suspension Products about steering stabilizers and he said if our trucks were properly aligned there is no need for a stabilizer unless we have oversized tire and a lift kit. I tend to beleive him, as this Inverted "T" Conversion along with the 03' track bar really took the slop out of my steering. I plan on staying at factory heights.

Next week I plan on leaving the truck with the alignment shop to fine tune and retorque all the items installed.

Thanks muchsnow for all your input into these discussions! :)

Wanting a Count of how many have had Steering Problems with 2500 & 3500 trucks!

There's been a lot of talk about how to fix etc.

I want to just see a count, no need for long replys, just model # & year!

Maybe if we show just how many, then DC will take notice. Remember how long it took Ford / Firestone to put figures together. My father in-law is starting Lemon Law paperwork on his 99 2500 4x4.

99 2500 4X4 Quad Cab. - Excessive steering wander fix started with a $250. 00 Track bar. Why can't they make the ball and socket replacable at say $100. 00? Even that would be a rip off, but better than throwing away a 40 pound forged arm.

01 2500 4x4 - Tracking bar is shot, will be replacing very soon - like next week - have already added the Darrin's steering brace which helped some - did that to hopefully prevent trouble with the steering box in the future.

01 2500 wandered moderatly, at 30k, 80k now and hardly can keep it on the road

02 2500 slight wander at 40k, still more wander than I would like

I put a Thuren track bar on a couple weeks ago!!! :D :D :D I love it, tightened the front end considerably. My only hesitation is how it will last in the salt environment due to the open hiem joint. It really tightened the front end up with 125,000 miles and I already had the DSS. Original track bar was shot at 32,000 miles and got replace then I had that one until recently. I kept it greased and it was doing ok until this spring. Check out the Thuren! :D

I did the same thing and Don's Track Bar did tighten up the front end nicely. I had a Lukes Link'd OEM bar that was still tight.
