I fixed mine by tightening the nut that attaches the steering linkage to the steering box. That is where ALL of my play was. It's still a little sloppy at that one spot. Any suggestions on how to lose the slop at that connection?

48,000 miles, three track bars, lukes link, followed by 3rd gen conversion(thanks Marv!) this actually helped the most. Tie rod at pitman arm. Just got back from a really reliable alignment shop and they said "everything's kosher yours drives great compared to the other's" They wanted to know about the SS conversion and I'm going to supply them the information. Still wanders as far as I'm concerned but getting out of my Honda Accord everything does.

I have traded for a 2005. I have a brand new third gen track bar and marv's third gen track bar install kit that have never been installed if anyone is interested pm me.

With 64k miles on the 2500 shortbed 4x4, I just about killed myself and the girlfriend trying to hold the new 28' toyhauler in the lane on I-75 @ 60 mph. I've been to 3 alignment shops, changed everything except steering stabilizer. I had the gearbox adjusted, better now, but new gearbox is in the near future.

This subject could be with the

Steering wander. I was thinking, about BALL JOINTS. What's the mileage you get out of your BALL JOINTS?

01 2500. track bar, tie ends and steering box @ 60000 miles took alot away, wa dangerous before, also found running lower air pressure helps.

99 2500 HD 5 spd 4x4 club short box - At 58kmi new track bar, tie rod, all 4 ball joints ($1400!!), made a little difference. :( At 62kmi (today) new stearing gear ($700!) made a lot of difference. :) Now I'm wondering if there was anything wrong with the track bar and tie rods, etc... :confused:

95 2500 just did tie rods and ball joints and it was better before now it wanders a bit as wall as a buddys 2001 is twichy and wanders a lot as well. probly need steering box in mine as i cant keep a pitman arm seal in it

1st truck 99 2WD 3500 DRW drove perfect even with bad tires and ball joints

2nd truck 99 2wd 3500 DRW pulls off crown of road either direction gone through the front end, all tight, swapped tires, 2 alignments still does it

2001 2500 4X4, my steering sucks! Ordering a PSC today because I can tighten the adjustment nut on the original box and it helps for a couple weeks and then it's loose again. :{

2001 2500 4x4 - new balljoints and tie rod ends around 65K. At 99K now, truck at dealership getting new steering box (extended warranty). Needs a track bar too but it's not covered so I'll be doing that myself when I get it back. Hope the steering box helps, it was getting pretty scary...
