Changed blower motor Friday evening. Everything worked great over this weekend. Time will tell. I still have the ignition switch on hand just in case it is needed. Did I mention I hate trying to track down electrical grimmlins?

Several times a year, I will start and run the truck then discover I have no heat or air, or cannot lower my windows or run the radio, etc. I am guessing anything that is hooked to the accessory side of the switch is dead. I have to turn off the truck and restart. Bingo, things work again. Truck has been doing it for at least 7 years. I didn't get it taken care of when under warranty because it wouldn't do this when at the dealer. It will need a new switch one of these days. I had the same problem with my 1990 dodge but had a new switch put in under warranty.

HVAC Blower Not Turning OFF!

I too have a problem with my blower however it doesn't turn off (instead of not turning on... ). Thought this thread relating to ignition switch might be my problem... .

I'm always tilting the steering column up and down when I drive (like it up when getting out and down all the way when driving... . ). I've had a couple goofy things happen like the radio will turn on in Accessory however it won't display anything on the LCD when the column is down... . the display comes back when the column is all the way up. I've had the reverse turn signal issue (replaced turn signal stalk around 3 years ago... ) and now the blower issue.....

So, my HVAC blower fan will not turn off with the ignition anymore. I now must turn if off manually when I exit the vehicle and turn back on when I enter.

Is this an ignition switch issue as others have reported or do I have a different problem?

Thanks,

Jon
