hey there, i have had the truck for about 8months, got it used, the a/c blend door recall was done on the truck. but since the last few days if the truck aint moving it aint cooling down the truck. it never had this problem before, you really notice it when you come to stop at a light, in about 5-10 min you are sweating something serious, also the air becomes heavy with moisture. when you switch the knob from recirc to fresh air you hear the airflow change under the dash. even when you are moving down the road the cold air seems high in moisture.

has anyone who had the recall have the door break again?

any thoughts from masses.....

i got appt. for tues. to check it out.

my ac fan sounds like a jet aircraft, but hardly any air comes out. Is this the blend door problem

Same here. Mediocre a/c performance is standard on these trucks. There are several other threads discussing it, but I haven't seen a good solution. I drive Chevy and Ford work trucks (and my wife's Expedition) that can make ice cubes. To get a good, cool, cab, I have to start early in the morning before it gets hot! I wrote to Daimler when they had Dodge and got no response.

Any time that your AC is performing poorly at an idle, I would seriously take a look at that fan clutch. Fan clutches are pretty poor on these trucks and if you can spin it freely by hand your fan clutch is toast, and isn't moving enough air past the condensor at an idle.

Solution, replace said fan clutch with a new one, then add some aftermarket electric fans to assist in cooling. Read some of my posts on fan clutch issues.
