I am looking at some ways to increase power especially for towing. I don't want to go gonzo on this. . Any opinions on Edge EZ, Smarty... something w/o having to tap pump wire??

The EZ works very nice to fatten up torque in the mid-range. With the boost elbow that comes with it, pre-turbo EGTs also dropped from 1300 degF to 1100 degF as well, although I installed the EZ and 4" exhaust the same weekend. Of course, when I added the DD2 injectors later, I lost the EGT benefit.

Smarty... gives you many more options for not much more money. The code reader/eraser is worth the $100 extra or whatever. I had an Edge EZ and wondered uh, is this thing working. You will never wonder if the Smarty is working because you can feel it.

I use a Van Aaken box on my 03. Works great, 2 power settings, very easy hookup. One plug in connection and one wire going to the switch in the cab. I pull a 32 foot 5th wheel. When I need extra power I put the switch on the second position and its like there is no trailer on my truck.

Ditto on the VA. I think an EZ or VA either one would give you what you are looking for.

I have had the Edge EZ which worked okay but is pressure only. I than used a Quadzilla Xilleraider which worked for a while but started giving a lot of problems. After being sent back twice it really messed up so I shelved it. I am presently using a BD Xpower and so far I like it. Driveablity is good and the power increase is enough for me. I quite often tow with GCVW of 20,000 to 24000 lbs.
