A new concept of diesel flathead engine

This is a new concept of four-stroke engine timing

New 4 Stroke Engine

#ad

Version of the flathead, has so far not allowed to build diesels

New4stroke but this version makes it possible to build a diesel, because the "valves" do not have to go to the head ( combustion chamber ), since opening up air travel, while moving down the " valve ". Ton allows almost no way limited degree of compression ,to the existing old flathead engine was impossible.

I simply will look as flathead. It can be cast as a single unit. It did not need the division on the block and head. Because the pistons can be put at the bottom... ...

It is full 4 stroke engine.

As long as the two cylinders go pop pop pop like my "35 Deere I'm in.

Just teasing. Very interesting design wouldnt it be a more even powerstroke if the main rod journals were 180 degrees from each other?

Subaru has been manufacturing and installing a "boxer" flat diesel engine in their European Outback for several years now. It is a very robust design and has been running flawlessly. Though they have talked about introducing it in the US, they have unfortunately NOT done so yet.

You can read about it here--

And see/listen to it here-

And a Motor Trendreview of a 2010 Euro Subaru, including some specs.

Please I want one!!

Another engine under development at the U of Wis. uses diesel and gas injected at different times, or in combination, as power is needed. 40% more efficient than diesel alone.

I'd love to hear this engine running. Do you have any audio recordings?

GulDam

I have not, and that for this reason that the volume is so large that never in my life I have not heard anything louder... This is more than 145 dB... but when put silencer, the engine is surprisingly quiet. It turns out the 95% of the mechanical engine sound is created in the old system timing... .

Now just saying flat engine, I think about:

Flathead engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In my design, the compression ratio can be up to 1:24.

And How companies grow an important advantage, which can not be seen on the animation. I can only note podczs engine design. Namely, the engine has a variable compression ratio, depending on the mutual positions of crankshafts. angular shift between the shafts, it makes the all cylinders, the engine has, the compression ratio varies.

Besides, the design is just lighter than the traditional timing. Skipping that nothing can meet with each other.

Diameter popped 75 mm , diameter piston 76. 5 mm

Weight popped 75 mm 1000 G

weight piston & rod 76. 5 mm 850 G

weight popped 62 mm 400 G

weight piston & rod 62 mm 370 G

But the window of the flight of the valve of 75 mm is only 64 mm, what is very similar to the window of the flight piston 62 mm .

That is it results from it that the valve of 75 mm is giving the same flight as the piston 62 mm that is 1000 G to 370 G !!!!!

==~~ 2. 5 more weight popped to piston& rod !!

It only looks impossibly. but this way is.
