Today i was moving the star wheel & i noticed the break off screw on the afc housing is not the first screw but the 2nd one toward the fire wall & the slotted screw is the 1st one . Every instruction i saw like tst & banks show the break off screw to be the 1st screw & slotted 2nd. Is this how some are or did some one put a plate in. The owner told me he put a new banks waste gate & maybe a banks plate in but im not sure. I knew very little about the truck when i bought it . He also moved and i can not get in touch with him . Also i do not have any gauges . I turned the wheel toward the engine about 2 full turns & i have no smoke at all now before i had alittle smoke at high rpm. pyrometer is on the way !

I think some of the plate kits come with a replacememt break-off screw. If whoever installed the new plate used it then they probably installed it in the back since that is easier to get to.

The button head cap screw looks very close to a breakawy screw :) if you want to disgiuse but still have easy access.

So the button head screw looks like a break off screw ? Whats the diference ? Does the button head screw have a little hole in it and just pops off and then theres the screw head . I played around with a screw driver but i think it was probally to big to get under. IF i keep moving the star wheel towrad the engine will my egt get to hot with out a pyro to know? Sorry about all the Q's I ' m starting to understand all this . THANKS

If you tighten the star wheel you will have less fuel, if you loosen the star wheel you will have more fuel!

I doubt you'll have enough fuel to hurt the engine. Just to be on the safe side, don't go above 3/4 throttle until you get the pyro and boost installed!

The star wheel and spring control the onset and rate of fueling increase vs. boost.

A button head allen screw has a hex recess for an allen bit. M6 uses 4 mm allen bits if button head, 5 mm if socket head.
