I have been following this thread because I to plan to rebuild my front end this spring (or when ever the new shop gets finished) . I have bought everything for the job from all new Polly bushings to Fox reservoir shocks. Their is nothing wrong with my stock front control arms, and the stock bushings are still very tight. I Just wanted a slightly longer control arm to offset for the added height. I contacted Sky jacker and there products seem to be very well built, they are the only lift company that has passed the German TUF, a independent certification much like our UL Listing, that rates vehicle manufacturers and the aftermarket. This alone speaks volumes for Skyjacker products. The DT control arms look a little to rough for me, they do not have the finished look of a well made product. While they made be strong? I don't know, but they do not have that finished look of a well crafted piece. my opinion... .
I have contacted CORE about there race series control arms, the black ones not the aluminum CNC machined ones with Hime joints. They appear to be well made and finished. The control arms that were shown on the E-bay site didn't Impress me at all, they looked weak. I would stay away from them and anything else that looks like that, with no name. Again my Opinion...
I am also looking for a replacement for my front springs, i would like to get a more progressive spring. Something that rode better, an still had the strength to hold up the front end with a HD bumper and winch. Again Core has front springs, but I don't think they have the progressive springs for the older trucks. I contacted Sky jacker about there springs and I am waiting for a reply. I am also exploring the possibility of removing the front springs and replacing them with air bags. Again still waiting on a reply.
