I have been thinking of creating an air bag suspension for my 79 IH scout as well as maybe my 07 2500. I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on the reliability, strength and longevity of a well designed air bag suspension.
I have some overload bags (5k) on the back of my 3500. I also have air ride seats. I am looking at a couple of different companies that do air ride kits for the front and rear of my truck. I know that there are several companies that use them on "pro touring" chassis' for cars. I like the ride and the flexability they offer. Durability in an off road application in the dirt??? I couldn't tell you anything. I would think that as long as you could keep the dirt and rocks frow rubbing against the bags... it would work fine. Jumping an air system... I think I would stick with the traditional designs for that purpose.
