For those that have installed Firestone RideRite 2071's, where did you source new u-bolts (assuming removal of overloads). Looking to install mine early next week and would like to have all the parts on hand before I get started, which is a somewhat new concept for me

When I need new u-bolts I usually go to a spring shop and have them made. You can try NAPA by looking up the size you need in their suspension book but by the time they order them the spring shop can make what you need,

Is it possible to use part# 2220 and retain your helper springs? From what I understand #2071 you have to remove them and #2220 you don't but will it fit under the bed??

Got the 2071's installed last night, didn't need longer u-bolts after all. Used the stockers with the 1" block on top of factory springs, and bolts snugged right up (with a little extra effort). I did buy 4" carraige bolts for the lower bag brackets, just to save threading torque nuts 3" down the bolt, much easier. They work great, keeping about 10 psi in them until I hook back up to my 37' 5er, will post my opinions on driving changes after that. Took about 3 hours all together, a relatively easy install, not too much blood spilled (rare for me :) )

Cryppie--the installation on the firestone instructions are INCORRECT. If you cut away the plastic as the diagram in the instruction states, when you load your truck substantially, the residual plastic will come down and tear a gash in your airbag. My friend loaded his camper and left on a trip. When he arrived, there was a gash in the airbag from sway(even with the bags). He contacted firestone(who told him to pound sand) and then a dealer. Dealer said all bags they install on 3/4 trucks have to be trimmed about an inch more than regular... . good luck...
