Has anyone used Toyota type IV fluid in a Aisin transmission. Its type iv meets jws 3309 specs. Less than 1/2 price of mopar brand. Mobile 3309 is almost impossible to find in Canada and its more expensive than the dealer. Just curious.
Toyota T-IV is the same fluid as ASRC, as it’s all JWS3309 as mentioned.
I use Amsoil ATF in both my transmissions calling for it. Just did a drain and flush on the 4Runner yesterday, 203K.
What has always amazed me is that Toyota considers T-IV a lifetime fluid, even says so on the dipstick. Yet it’s only good for 30K in the AS69RC. I realize different applications but that’s a huge difference, especially for a non-synthetic fluid.
There is simply nothing fancy about this fluid, it’s just hard to find because most transmissions went away from the spec 15-20 years ago.
I have bought "AISIN" fluid direct from the AISIN website in S/Cal at cheaper then MOPAR and Mobil etc.

Really confused now as I understood it it was not synthetic. Looking at that site it states
ALL AISIN Automatic Transmission and CVT Fluids are 100% Synthetic
Interesting indeed. I have see on their site in the past where it says ATF-0T4 is not synthetic.
As for the OP’s question the listed fluid for the AS69RC is T-IV from Aisin.
How are you guys doing the flush? Just draining the pan? Or flushing the torque converter too?
Is there a spin on filter ? or internal? or nothing?

It a heck of alot more in Canada around 180 for a case . I can get Aisin brand or Toyoto type 4 for $ 8 a quart. The dealer wants $17.Amazon has 6 quarts of 3309 for $38.... is that a good price for you?
View attachment 125630 You might could use the Toyota fluid, but if it's not less than this....
Christmas Cheers, Ron

....and no one should realllllllly be concerned with not doing the “improper fluid exchange” on the AS69RC as if one is relatively faithful to the supplied maintenance regimen, it will perform great for many, many, many miles. Not hearsay, not a rumor, not a speculation......just plain old FACTS.no one has figured out how to do a proper fluid exchange on the AISIN. Easy on the 68!
Whew! I'm glad you posted that. I'll be creeping up on my 30K fluid drop, and thought I'd have to drill a hole in the converter....and no one should realllllllly be concerned with not doing the “improper fluid exchange” on the AS69RC as if one is relatively faithful to the supplied maintenance regimen, it will perform great for many, many, many miles. Yeah probably $10,000 depending on the truck. Its the tax that sucks but we don't need to buy health insurance . So you can pay the insurance companies or the government nobody rides for free.Wow... I guess I didn't realize how much more everything costs in Canada. Congrats on figuring a solution out that saves you. Do the trucks themselves cost way more there too?
