They are not suppose to give over the phone. They need to verify ownership before giving out. This information allows anyone to make a new key for your truck so it is controlled information. Locksmith cannot even get the security code, they get a temp security code that has a limited life time.
you are correct sir! Thanks for the info once again. I get to do a little road trip now, only an 80 mile round trip ;)

Ok, got the 4 digit pin from the dealer yesterday, went into the Body Computer and updated the pressure thresholds: Front 65 Rear 50, all good there. Accessed the RF Hub and selected RF MY2013-20 powernet, then rf-hub reset/replace and entered the pin from the dealer print out hit start and got a fail, invalid pin. Tried it several times, same. This morning the changes I made were still updated in the truck, I dropped the pressure in the rear and warning came on and said to fill rear tires to 50. Same with the front. Went to a different dealer today and got another print out and the 4 digit # was different than yesterdays, and I told the parts manager what was going on and that i believed the 4 digit should be a static number.... he thought the same thing. He said come back if this one didn't work.... Went through the update proceedure again with todays code and the Fail invalid pin came on again. One thing I did notice in the RF Hub proceedure section is a "Read PIN" choice. It's discription is: "This proceedure reads the pin from the RFH Memory". But not knowing what it would do exactly I thought I would present it here first.
As always thanks for any insight on this.

The pinpuller couldnt do it Ozy. Worth a try tho for $14.95 I stopped in at Victorville Jeep Ram today, but they were the least helpful of any place Ive been to for anything in a long while. Kinda rude and informed me they would have to charge me $25. But based on getting two different 4 digit pin printouts from 2 different dealers, and from everything Ive found, the pin#'s are static and specific to the truck, I had little faith in getting the correct pin from them. He also said Chrysler charges them for the info..... So I politely thanked him for his time and left that fine establishment never to return. ;)

dealers with " attitude " really are the worst. several years ago, in golden co - a guy got bent over bad by a certain dealership. he got so mad he either rented or bought a tow behind blinking traffic sign ( like the highway dept uses ) and parked it very close to that dealer. was there for weeks with a " polite " message regarding that dealer. it was awesome. cheers, and good luck. keep us posted. :)

For sure! This is getting more fun than anything else at this point. It will all come together
I’ve worked with many parts people my entire life, most are great and some not so much

I'm gonna guess that this information is old, and everyone knew about the INLINE mini from Cummins. It looks like to be fairly useful for engine information and troubleshooting... I didn't see this mentioned in any other threads, so I'm taking a chance an posting it here.

https://www.cummins.com/parts-and-service/digital-products-and-services/inline

Its blue tooth and can be accessed through an iphone app "Cummins Guidanz" which is free to download..

I'm still looking for more information, but what I've found so far, is that the adapter is different from Alpha in that it can read the Cummins engine codes.
It works with and independent of subscriptions.
In another ( maybe not so informative about use of the mini, thread) an RV'r posted this information about its use:
sorry to send you into a potential rat hole...

https://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/cummins-engine-code-reader-inline-mini-460901-2.html

Its between $235 and $365 depending on when/where its found
The Cummins part is #5299909.
I've also read that there is a similar product made by NEXIQ which costs a little less.

That's it, I don't own one, but thought the info would be helpful to someone who can make use of it..
Cheers

I think that doesnt apply to OBDII vehicles but for HD and possibly MD trucks with the SAE J1939-13 diagnostic connector.

I used it to calibrate my turbo actuator. Details on that here

https://www.turbodieselregister.com/threads/2013-2017-turbo-actuator-replacement.268091/

I also did a stationary desoot right before my annual oil change last fall. I'll be doing that every year for preventative measures.
I just tried the Stationary Desoot but after the procedure started, (all pre-requisites ok), the lower Alpha display showed; "Requested procedure is not supported by the unit".
What does this mean??
Thanks,

What year is your truck?

Hi AH64,
Sorry I thought my info would show when I posted. I just got the AlphaOBD recently and have connected with the OBDLink MX via bluetooth. It seems to work for the other tests I have done.
2015 Cab Chassis, G56
Thanks,

yes to brake and neutral. I think all conditions needed are met. I even looked at the current status on Alpha and it recognizes the parking brake and etc...

I have done a ton of stuff with it. There is a huge thread on another Ram forum that details everything people have been able to do. Not trying to pimp that site but honestly its a huge resource and would be hard to re-create elsewhere.

And No, you cannot change the exhaust brake settings with Alfa. Requires a tuner that can alter the ECM (which alfa does not do)

.

Exactly! I have a CTT intact tune and my EB comes on at start up.

Are you using the Android platform? Is there an option to choose 3500 C&C? I dont remember off the top of my head.

The only other requirements I am aware of is ECT and fuel. The first time I performed a stationary regen I made the mistake of starting out with just under 1/4 tank and it aborted the desoot before it was complete.

I am using a pc/windows for the AlphaOBD. Yes the software does have a choice for "RAM 3500 (D2/DD/DR)" in which "DD"" would be the cab chassis.
I contacted Alpha support and the tech suggested;
Yes, try to continue the procedure, the engine ECU should finish it even if the app can’t read the status. And please record debug log for me to look into the data exchange. To record the log check the “Data recording” box on the Start tab in advanced mode, connect to the engine and run the procedure. After the recording uncheck the Record data or exit the app and send me AlfaOBD_Debug.bin file located in the Data folder of the app install folder.
I will try this as soon as I can get back to it.

Interesting thread. I'd love to get rid of the low pressure warning on my truck. If I'm not hauling, I run 50 front and 45 rear. Tires at 80 is a harsh nasty ride.

So I just need the code from a dealer, the Alpha ODB app and an ODB dongle?
