Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Alt. bad battery's went dead now high EGT's

My alternator went bad and my truck died on the way home batteries went dead before I could get there. Alt must have went out the day before anyway replaced the Alt. jumped the truck drove it home and when I got home my EGT's on my edge juice stayed at around 600 degree's and truck would not shut off because of the cool down setting is at 400 deg. Went to the store later and did the same thing any one else have this problem? Do I need to reset something? Thanks for the help Mark

Replacing those items wont cause anything to change with the edge unless you didnt reprogram the shut off egt temp. But Ive always found the edge to maintain settings even when unhooking the batteries.
