I have the opportunity to trade my truck (see sig) w 73,500 miles on it & get a new 2002 move to a long box & get a 6 speed (I love my Bill K auto, but it does get boring not to shift) I keep all of the bombs except for the RV 275's & the DTT trans work. The payment is the same or less than I pay now. The kicker is my Company pays me a mileage allowance which makes the payment + fuel. What would you do?? This will go down in a day or so, so don't wait to respond.

Thanks in adavnce:D

I'm with Danelle. I would jump at the chance. I personally don't much like automatics - unless you mean as in . 45 ACP :-laf

I only dream of being in your position. I would do it in a half a heartbeat!!!! Auto trannies SUCK! LOL, just kidding. Go for the ETH!!!

73. 5 k ? Heck you're just starting to break it in.....

Well, if you're not going to race it, I would probably go for it, even though it's a stick.

Add another one to go for it.

Traded from a 98. 5 24-Valve Quad Short Box Auto to a 2002 Quad Long Box ETH/DEE, absolutely love it... .

I love my DTT auto :) so I would have to say its your call

Been there done it with a stick, give me a DTT transmission and its :D :D :D :D all the way

You guys changing trucks every two years either make a lot more money than I do or you just don't mind living on borrowed money and stringing out the payments.

If your current truck no longer meets your needs it's one thing but to trade (and incurr additional debt?) just for the sake of a slightly newer truck makes no sense to me. Just my humble opinion.

Cullyguy,

That is what I am doing. I would have to spend just as much to up grade as to trade at this point. When I bought my truck I didn't have all you guys to lean on so I made a few bad choices. Good luck dude.

NVR FNSH, What has me on the fence (from opinion it looks like falling toward the 6-speed side) is that My company pays me to drive my truck, so equity is pretty much a non-issue for me. Trading every two years is not normal for me. Every 3-1/2 - 4 is. The rebates are very good right now & absorb the negative equity. It would be nice to make it to pay off & bank my vehicle allowance, but in my position I really doubt I'd ever get to that point. I am taking into consideration that I will have a Bronze glasstite canopy to sell & remove - reinstall gauges, trans pan, system saver, K & N intake ect. Thanks for taking your time to reply.

If its what you want to do (get the 6 speed) and you found a truck that matches your preferences... . do it. It's the last year of the current body/engine style. You'll gain 4 wheel disc brakes.

In the end its upto you, how bad do you want it?

Unless you can't stand your current truck, I'd really hate to start all it over with payment #1. I was considering selling mine off and getting something else, but I only have 2 years' payments left on my '00 and I want it paid off now, so I'm keeping it.

I don't know what to say... I'm not much of an auto fan, but that DTT auto you have will always outrun a 6spd no matter what.

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't regret getting a six-speed.

I love my DTT add - ons, but I also miss shifting.

And as an added bonus you get 4 wheel discs. Think about it :D

I would do it. ;)

2003

Go for broke and trade that baby in for a 2003 Dodge with the new and improved Cummins TD. Look at those HP and torque numbers, very impressive!!!!!! Good luck:rolleyes:

NVR FNSH, The way my business is set up it's in my best interest to turn my trucks in every two years (I write them off) also I put on a minimum of 150 miles a day which kills the resale of my truck if I keep it to long.
