Anybody looking for a Silver dually 600?

Just got off the phone having to tell a fleet manager that I'm not going to be buying the truck I had ordered from him less than two months ago. :(

While I could hear the disappointment in his voice... he was very pleasant about it and said he was sorry it didn't work out. (He even answered some personal questions about why he didn't make me give a deposit or sign a thing!)

He made big points with me by not blowing up or giving me a hard time!

I just happened to find this dealer while looking for used trucks, & ended up talking to the Fleet Manager. He impressed me with his knowledge of the CTD & agreed to order me a truck at invoice. (Except for later worries about why he didn't get me to sign anything... I felt he was an honest & upfront person, easy to deal with. )

He said he would still honor my deal (invoice minus rebates) & in fact a person could just call & he would try make arrangements to hold the truck for them over the phone!

The dealer is Hoblit Haynes in Woodland, near Sacramento Calif.

His name is Grady Glyer, fleet manager, 888-88dodge. It looks like they are about the third largest dealer in Northern Calif. , lots of trucks on the lot (all white!)but no duallys...

I have been tracking the truck on Insite & it should be here next week. So if anybody is looking for a loaded Silver dually, maybe give him a call before he lets every buddy & their brother take it for a test spin!:)

The truck is optioned the same as mine except it has the optional tires... pm me if you need any more info...

Hey DanDee,

too bad you didn't grab the truck. I had a similar experience with mine. Ordered in June of '02, then waited until Oct to get delivery (evidently a shortage of charcoal paint). When the truck finally arrived, my wife and I decided against it due to her change in employment (or lack thereof). I sadly told him we couldn't get it. A day later we changed our minds again and luckily he still had the truck. They had marked it up $9000 and were about to put it on the lot. He honored my deal at $99 over invoice, and I'm happier every day. Mine's an '03 SO CA version, but I don't plan on trading it in anytime soon. Good luck, and I can't believe more people don't talk to the Fleet managers to get a quick deal. .

DanDee, I think my truck is on the same train. After making great progress across NM and AZ, it now sits in the dreaded Colton "traffic jam. " My ETA has slipped 3 days. It gives me more time to get my ducks in a row. Like selling the F250 and ordering accessories.

EEdmondson, looking back on my Insight printouts from the truck I bought last week...

It went from Yuma to Colton in a day, then 3 days later it showed it up in San Luis Obispo, then at Benicia the day after!

Insight showed that it still had a week to go after being unloaded at Benicia... (before it would be delivered to the dealer... ) but the dealer called & it had arrived the very next day, so who knows!

Depending on where it's going from Colton... could be in your driveway in just a few days!!!

Good Luck & your going to love your new ride!:D

Insight shows the train was unloaded yesterday... so I guessing that there is a new silver dually sitting the dealers lot in Woodland today!!!:) (If anyone is looking for a loaded dually!)

EEdmondson.....

Check with you dealer, she might come in early... nothing better than being able take delivery right as she's backed out of the dealer's prep room!!!:D

(Mine was put on the delivery truck the day it was unloaded, so even though Insight showed another week... it came in that day!)

DanDee

The train arrived in Benicia on 4/10, was unloaded on Easter (4/11), and my truck was delivered to the dealer at 10 PM on 4/12. I took delivery on Wed, 4/14. Bruce at Antioch Dodge made the process fast and painless. No sales pitch for extended warranty nor anything else. He had all the paperwork done and ready to sign. The truck was ready for me to drive it home.

Anyone in the Bay Area looking for a CTD might give Bruce a call.
