I noticed a difference with the K&N I have now... but... I'd like to go to the AFE simply because they have a deeper pleat on their filter. Both are re-usable too...

Also, I've not had any problems with "dusting" with the K&N. That is a symptom common to the later trucks using the rectangular/square airbox.

Here is another option www.greenfilterusa.com This filter was developed for the Paris to Dakar off road race. It is similar to the K&N but with deeper pleats, is reuseable but is just slightly higher in cost to the K&N. I have had mine in for about 8000 miles and will do an oil analysis on my next change - this week. I inspected my inlet hose about 3000 miles ago and it is as clean as it was when new.

I too have added the K&N filter, however I cut the top center portion off the plastic air cleaner box leaving the mounting base to the wheel well, and two sides.



Looks great, and really pulls in more air. The element is 70% exposed.



Oh, the sound off the turbo moving air is cool too!
