The Ugly Truth About Big Oil Companies

$3.99 last week

I was in central PA on Friday passing on stations at $3. 89 and found most were at $3. 99 but found one at $3. 79 at last. With four company trucks ( all 5. 9L Cummins ) we are going to raise our rates. The best part is the news networks thinks it's a mystery why food and other goods are up. DUH.

watching the news last nite they were interviewing a guy filling up his ford at $100+. sign in the backround read diesel $4. 29!!!!

I think our leaders (?) reb and dem, have allowed this to happen to us. This didnt have to happen. They put political agenda, looking out for their friends, etc, ahead of watching out for the American people. With fuel at over $4/gal (gas and diesel), is it too late to fix ? They haven't done anything yet, I dont think they ever will.

I heard on the news the other day, that the truckers are talking a little more about a strike. But what will that do ? Probably nothing.

The most powerfull nation in the history of the world is being brought to its knees by this.

Just my $4. 00 worth.

$3. 99/9 this morning. Same station tonight 4. 06/9. This used to be the cheapest station around. Now they are the first to increase the price and they are more than the cost in the next town. Darn near right across from the refinery. #@$%!

I don't like paying this much for diesel either, but we are a long way from being on our knees.

Steve

I hate to disagree but we are almost on our knees. The dollar has lost $. 21 in power against the Euro and $. 70 against the Canadan dollar. (since 2002) The third world have us right where they want us. They can't stand us and it won't be long before the U. S. like we knew it 20 years ago will be gone. My $4. 00 worth. By the way $3. 75 in Forest Va. today.

$4. 11 on the way home tonight.
I'm glad I have this truck and not the 360 Ram Maxi van I used to have. I get almost twice the MPG that I got with the van. Man, that gas bill would be really unbearable!

I don't know about you guys but these prices have definitely changed my driving habits. All my trips, short or long are thought out now. My house is tightening up quick and in a hurry. Cell phone plans, CFL bulbs, downsized cable plan, coupons, blah, blah, blah... I guess this is typical behavior of what people in a recession feeling squeezed might do. My wife and I sit around and think "Boy I wonder if others are getting that queezy feeling about things".

I think it has finally reached the point for me that my truck will be doing a lot of sitting around.

Between the diesel prices and the cost of heating oil, things are starting to get very tight. When we moved in this house, I think we paid somewhere around $. 70/gal for heating oil. I called on Friday and it is now $3. 30/gal.

Mine also have been sitting,
And when i leave for my destinations I (Try) to leave a little earlier and take my time to conserve the fuel.

A buddy of mine told me back in 1997 when he bought his Powerstroke brand new, Diesel at the pumps was . 97cents (So i was told)

Went to $4. 19 here yesterday. I don't even want to go anywhere to see if it went up again today. I try to take my wifes Jeep to work whenever I can.
