Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) anyone know what the upper threaded adjuster in the rear of an p7100 does?

i accidently loosened the upper adj. instead of the lower one when adjusting the contact point for a new #10 plate that was put in. now the truck seems like it takes longer to crank to start, 3-4 rev to start instead of 1-2. other than that it runs great. p. s. the idle is 950rpm
 
I think you found out. Adjust it back to where it was and do the bottom only, to where the toe and the lever come together @ full throw of the the throttle, and the solinod rod raised. Don't over loosen the bolt and lose parts inside the pump. Bad Ohaman!
 
hi, thanks i'll try that . i can't really see in to the rear of the pump . i'll try a mechanics mirror i think there was a paint mark on the nut but i'm not thinking thats going to help me with the threaded adjuster. when it loosened it probably came out a couple of turns so maybe i'll go in that many.
