Anyone know where I can find these tires?

I posted this also in the off-road thread, so maybe I will get a few hits here. I have been searching all over looking for these Michelin XL tires and the only place I could find them is at Dollar Tire in Canada and they have tons of them. The issue is freight and I think it will probably cost just as much as a set of 6 of these to get them down here. I am looking for size 9. 0R16 or 11. 0R16 as they seem to be the only ones that will probably fit with my amount of suspension lift. Please post if you have any info on where to possibly find these within the nation or maybe a closer state of Canada.

Thanks, Joe

AFAIK, they are not availiable to the general public due to the war in IRAQ. The US military gets 'em all I guess. Michelin has also pulled the XL, and others from their website. There is a guy on Pirate who sells used ones but I think only in 20" rim configuration.

Just have them shipped via Greyhound bus. My father in law used to do this all the time and the shipping was way cheaper than anything else.

I've got a set of 1600R20's for sale if you're interested ;). Email -- email address removed -- - he's got lots of the larger sizes and may have some of the smaller ones for 16" rims, too - not sure...

I heard from lots of places about the discontinuation of them due to the war. But I found a couple of places in the states that sells them used with at least 70% tread life left. One place gave me a quote for $150 per tire. Lots of these national surplus places have them, but they are all used. No biggie though I bet I could get a lot more miles out of them as they are meant for big heavy trucks and shouldn't wear as bad on my rig.

I actually already e-mail that guy and haven't heard back yet. Maybe I'll get lucky and find some new ones somewhere.
