That sounds doable Ron, now you guys are lucky, I am on an Island the fog clears about 10:00 have to wait one hour for sun beating on stucco, then I go with airless sprayer and do one side. Stop at 14:45 so paint can sort of dry then the fog comes back in! Grr:(

For the price you said your doing the double coat ?. What does it say about that, one after the other or dry in between.

Dave,
You can do a day apart between the base coat and top coat, it's just better for the base coat to tie into the caps, sides and tying into topside components. I think it's pretty doable for me. They have some great videos at the link I provided that helped a lot.

EDIT: What's going to be interesting is applying the base and top coat... even though using a roller, you basically overload the roller and glide it on... I'll share that experience tomorrow.

Cheers, Ron

Friends,

I watched the installation video again and the cutting in areas need to completely dry first, then roll on the basecoat. Nothing like viewing and reviewing the instructions. So, gonna do the sides, caps, and around top side component's, let dry overnight, roll basecoat and let dry, let dry overnight, then roll top coat and let dry.

Better process.

Cheers, Ron

Ron, do you have to peel all the masking tape loose as your cutting in before it dries?

Looking real good so far. You've done a lot of prep.

Yes sir, have to peel it while wet, let it dry, apply masking tape again, paint again, and peel it again while wet.

EDIT: Got off to a bad start today, my young Lab found her first skunk today and been treating her... bath, vinegar rinse, another bath and vinegar... poor baby.

Ron, I see the high that has been over the Southwest bringing up to 118 officially is starting to move your way. Hopefully you will be done before it gets to you.

Friends,

I painted the sides and about 4 inches in on the top from the top. I didnt notice, but have several runs on the side EPDM roof membrane. Not terrible... I'll see tomorrow if I can blend them in from the side on the scaffolding. It took about 1.5hrs to do each side and about an hour to cut in the three AC units.

Tomorrow gonna fix sides, cut in vents, antennas, and end caps... estimated about 2 to 3 hours and roll it Monday.

Didnt take many pics as was RACING clock working with the Crazy Seal.

I'll post tomorrow.

Friends,

I finished the FIRST coat of all the cut in work today, cut in first coat front and rear caps (1 hr), applied the second cut in coat around the three A/C units (1hr), first coat (Crazy Patch and Crazy Seal) on antenna base, two fantastic fans, and plumbing vents (2 hrs). Everything besides the A/C units that penetrates (screwed into) the roof requires a coat of Crazy Patch (more silicon and thicker) over screws and bases, then cover and blend while still wet. I'm laying down or sitting on my tail doing this. When I paint second coat on sides of roof, this time I'm doing it from the scaffolding so I can blend the runs I made doing it from topside AND coat it such that 2nd coat does NOT run.

Sorry, I didn't get pics as I was racing the clock today and was really whooped when done. Spent 4 hrs up top and 1 hr for prep/mixing/cleanup (stuff take 10 minutes to stir per product), pouring into smaller buckets, moving myself around getting into position, and cleaning when done. Yes I have power mixers I could use, but I mix this stuff folding it from the bottom to the top. BTW, all the Crazy products, brushes, tape and tools are up top. I only clean the buckets and brushes on the ground, then bring them up with me when starting another day. I hoist materials up with hook and rope.

What's left: Got to re-mask it tomorrow (2hrs), take wife to physical therapy, and Tues paint second cut in coat and remove masking tape as I go on rain gutters and end caps (Tues 5 hrs), dry overnight, roll base coat (Wed 1 to 2 hrs), dry overnight, roll topcoat (Thu 1 to 2 hrs), dry overnight, reinstall A/C covers, Sat Ant, Marine TV antenna, (Fri 1 hr) and done.

I'll shoot some pics tomorrow when I re-mask everything, schedule may change (extend) due to physical disabilities and heat... projecting 100` everyday this week. I'm going to speculate 5 to 7 days to finish.

So far, I'm happy with results, I like the finish and workability of the material, it takes some finessing, and like everything we do, prep is key. When all done, I'll do final pics and periodically report on how this material holds up.

Cheers and talk atcha tomorrow, Ron

Looks like a first class job, I wonder how that product would work on an aluminum roof? Also little late on this but tomato juice does wonders on skunk sprayed dogs.

According to the website, appears to work on metal and variety of roofs, like mobile homes, sheds etc, which makes more sense to have a 50 year warranty.

My Mom and Dad bought a Mobile Home in 1971 and replaced it in 1999. I owe a lot of the longevity of it to subsequent roof coatings, but required refresh approximately every 7 years.

Yep, I mentioned to my wife, a retired wildlife biologist, using tomato juice and she handed me the bottle of apple cider vinegar and water, which seems to work. I like the tomato juice though and can have a bloody Mary;):):D

Friends,

I'm back on the RV, taped everything again for second coat of Crazy Seal on the sides and around the components on the roof. E h time a coating is applied, the masking tape has to be removed while wet for a nice clean line.

I didnt take pics as this is just repeat of previous steps. It likely will take two mornings to complete second coat of the sides and cut in of roof components. As for my back, never underestimate the power of modern drugs and proper rest.;):D

Thanks, and cheers. Ron
