Here I am

Are 12 valves really bringing this king of money or is the dealer off their rocker?

I believe that the Cummins Turbo Diesel engine option in the first production truck makes it somewhat comparable to the 1970s Dodge/Plymouth hemi cars. Those cars can go over $100k, originally sold for around $5k. The simplicity of the 12V trucks, especially the first gens will insure increasing value.

The heads crack from the intake seat to the injector hole, and between I and E seats. Proper porting and blending to remove hot spots prevent cracking, at least up to 800 hp level fueling. If you have stock 160 or 180 HP fueling, the stock head probably won't crack.

I've got a 97 2500 regular cab 5 speed absolute stock with new tires and 97000 miles I'm sure thinking about selling. Always garaged and I drive it 15 miles a month and have for the last 10 years since I retired. Oil and filter changed yearly with Rotella T6. Also has a Leer topper and bed liner and class 5 receiver hitch.
