Bad RV Tire or??

I Bubbled a Nankang tire this trip on the right side. Load rang D, ST225R15. Temp was about 90 outside. I am away from the trailer right now but I think this is the correct size. I know the Load range D is correct. I don't know if I had a bad tire or what. Tire was like new, 2 years old and covered when not in use. Do they make a load range E trailer tire somewhere? Where I bought a new tire they didn't have one. Will check site again when I get home. Thanks Dean

Dean, I tried to find a load range E tire in that size as well. I originally had 225/15 C rated tires on my trailer. After a couple of weeks of looking around I settled on the D rated Goodyear Marathons. The smallest E rated/10 ply tire I could find was a 225 16. This would have been an inch taller. I maybe could have gotten away with the bigger size but by the time I bought 5 new steel wheels I would have had almost a thousand dollars invested. I'm just happy to have the D rated for the time being. The best price I could find on the tires was at Sam's Club.

Try Titan Tires, they make a 225-15-75R load range "E". I just ordered a set for my 5er. An added benefit, they're made in the USA I was told. They have a website, which will list the distributors by state. Good luck.

FWIW, Carlisle makes a LR "E" in that size too. I have their "Radial Trail" tires on my trailer and haven't had any trouble out of them.

I'm slowly getting my generals 225s replaced under warranty as they develop weather cracks. I've switched over to one of the Carlisle E rated ones already but haven't traveled on it yet. The Generals I have are rated really good for weight carrying (for a D tire) but I love the extra air pressure the E rated 225s provide.

On my way home when the temps was in the high 90's drove 50 to 55mph. Makes a long trip but no trouble. FWIW, saw seven rigs pulled over due to tire trouble after I had mine.

I had the Titan tires installed Friday and they are now carrying 80psi with a load rating of 2840 lbs each. They are a good looking tire, and no noticeable harshness, probably due to the radial design. If anything, I think the trailer rides smoother than the bias TowMasters that were on it before. Once again, they are definetly a USA product which is worth something.
