Folks, many of you may recall that at 4k I had a ball joint go bad. The dealer replaced it with a complete lower control arm/ball joint. Then at 9k, same problem, same side, this time it was the replaced lower control arm/ball joint! I began to think I was looking at visiting the dealer every 4 or 5k miles for new ball joints. Instead, the tech put in a grease zerk! Interestingly, he didn't drill far enough into the ball joint so the noise continued. That's when he thought the upper ball joint was the noisy one!
Well, after he and another tech worked to figure out what was going on, he drilled just a tad more and voila! Now, thanks to the dealership, the left upper and lower ball joints have grease fittings!
Now all I gotta do is wait till the right side ball joints fail.
