I agree. On more than one occasion I have gone into my paper portfolio of purchases to find a plethora of plain paper.

Especially Home Depot, they get pretty unreadable pretty fast . Anything with a warranty or I think I will have to return , I will surely have a picture of it .

I need this important information about battery warranty at Costco or was it Walmart paper receipt take picture of receipt design to disappear in couple of weeks make sure battery has label or has been scan in Costco computer, I think I understand, thanks alll!

I only use Deka and have seen them last 8+ years in some applications, mine are only 3 years old and expect at least another 3 or more out of them.

This is true for me too. I even had a dual battery set-up on a JD 350 dozer and those Deka (aka East Penn Manufacturing) lasted TWELVE years with only 2 season tractor use and NOT plugged in ever!!! I think they wouldve lasted even longer, but a few times during the lifecycle I inadvertently neglected to turn the battery cutoff a few times between uses and thus drained them ALL the way down, which is never good!!!

But dam if they didn't last 12 years anyway!!

I have been using them in all my vehicles and equipment for MANY years now with not a single battery death that wasn't my fault and encourage family and friends to do the same.

NAPA also has their battery information on file also. I had purchased a battery for my camper last year and this camper will eat a battery dead if not fully charge when put in storage. There is a battery disconnect switch in the trailer, but the leveling system and one other sensor is not wired into the disconnect circuit. I used my trailer in early August and put this back in storage, in Oct we went to get the trailer and the battery was dead. I took the battery to Napa and had the battery tested, it was dead. NAPA warranty the battery giving me a new battery with no receipt, the receipt was at home in the trailer file.

This is why I like to use NAPA stores there is usually one in every town. If I had purchased a Costco battery this would have been a 1 hour drive to the closest Costco store in my area and another 1 hour drive back to the trailer. Costco is not everywhere, I didn't even see one store in either KY or TN when we were camping there in OCT, but NAPA is.

After reading , and hearing about Deka batteries thought I would at least check them out. What I am finding they are pretty elusive around here, have yet to find any off the shelf. A lot of them online, but not interested getting an item like that online.

Pretty much settled on the Everstart 94R Platinum AGM's from Walmart $164.86 ea. 5 year warranty ,3years free replacement ,and another 2 years prorated, not seeing any battery with much better warranty. Plus I can get a 10% discount buying them .Made by Exide in the US.

Our local Costco does not carry the 94R, probably get them ,but again, I want to just buy off the shelf. The big thing, there is never a problem finding a Walmart Time will tell if they are a decent battery.

I talked to a local Napa yesterday on warranty ,and such. They said they like to see the receipt , but would honor it. Also talked to my daughter-in-law who has worked for Walmart out of high school who is now the store manager of a local Super Walmart, been with them for over 20 years. She told me on battery warranties, there will be no issues, as long as it still on warranty. They are in the system when bought .

FYI-- Deka is the "in-house brand" of East Penn Battery Manufacturing. You can also source and trust just a bout ANY battery that is actually made by East Penn.

For example, the Duracell battery line, distributed by Batteries Plus ( which has some brick and mortar as well as Internet distribution) is for now made by East Penn, as are some NAPA batteries and some Oreillys batteries, just not ALL of the batteries sold by those companies...IMO the trick is in determining which is made by East Penn and which are made by another battery manufacturer.

That said, the Oreillys Fleet battery made by Deka in my loader is running strong after 5 years.
The Duracell in my daughters Toyota is still good, though at only 3 years its too early to tell.

In comparison, Deka is 5 years free replacement. No pro ratings.
Just spit balling here, but it looks like either the house brands skimp on the warranty to improve profits or there are varying levels of build quality going on here.

True, talked to Napa on their Legends , they start at $129 and go from there or there about.
Another crazy thing , and never heard this before , was told at Walmart today when going to buy the AGM’s that you can’t jump start them , and only trickle charge. I do know you need a charger that has the AGM mode, but jump starting ?????

That’s what I’m thinking too, plus I’m not finding Deka around here. This battery thing is getting crazy . I was better off living in denial and just going out and buying a battery that fit

High loads, rough service, high under hood temps, less than perfect maint, and bad electrical systems to name just a few. Anything mechanical or electrical is subject to failure. Anything with human involvement is subject to error. Make your best guess and good luck.

Thats kind of what I was getting at from the start, been lucky or just the way I use my vehicles. Not a lot of miles this 2014 working on 6 years old with 48K on it. Always in the garage other then a month in Arizona in the winter ,and six weeks in Montana in the summer ,and pretty moderate weather during those times.

As WE have discussed never dealt with a battery warranty , have always gotten pretty good life out of any battery I have had. I seem to buying batteries every 5-7 years, not complaining at all. Yup, just going to go get the $148 special at Walmart three miles away ,and be done with this. And definitely move on to something just a bit more important, like hitting Strawberry reservoir fishing before it ices up
