Hey Guys,

This is the first problem I have had with the brake sticking closed.

What do I need to do to get her freed up?

Thanks, Brian

sounds to me like the snap ring or E-clip came off the shaft inside the canister. I had the same problem with my exhaust brake. in order to fix it you need to remove the canister from the brake assembly.

My BD solonoid actuator keeps on sucking in soot and moisture somehow? TqT and I juust cleaned it out and she has been good (Untill a small deal the other nite) But all in all what a great brake.

To dissengage it Discon power to the solonoid and simply rotate the cam open and get to where ya gotta go.

Remove your spool valve and clean it. Move the vent inside the cab. {long piece of 1/4 plastic line}Be sure to check the clip like Garrett Petersen said. Have repaired alot of them. {Mind you BD says they dont have that issue}.

I have had the same problem, sometimes it sticks open and othertimes it will stick close. Each time I have drained water from the actuator. I have it vented the cab but that didn't help, finally said to heck with and removed it.
