Hey john, Like I said before I will be at renton this weekend,Cummins invite. I dont remember bashing YOU or any other automatic. My comments had nothing to do with racing. As I would guess you motor has been tuned up and would not have a problem going buy me. What would that sticker say? This type of attack on my cream puff of a truck, as you put it is just showing your jealousy #ad
. The is just my opinion again. I look forward to seeing you again #ad

isn't it funny how these threads always turn into a DTT testimonial ???

settle down boys , this is BD's showcase ,i saw the guts of the X convertor first hand at dyno days , whether that's what actually will end up in the TC 's is another story in itself . the inner surface clutch lining is maybe half the outer , whether it will hold is anyones guess .

as far as the high hp version ,as far as the hot rodder is concerned, if you have a good convertor design lockup is not the priority it used to be ... note to Brian , there is some FREE test data ... but pushing lockup importance may be a tool to help push the torque lock ???

keep the infighting to the track where the men are seperated from the boys #ad

Hey Bill, Before I read this post and found out B-D has a new convertor out. I actually told a diesel owner that before he did too much performance products to his engine he would need to contact you. I did tell him that we dont see eye to eye on business practices. That in itself did not discourage me to speak of your product. I hope you all have a nice day #ad
. Now that I can direct him also B-D with there new convertor, he can make his own decision.

Ya know I always put an X on the dead aviation parts right before I threw them in the trash... . Coincidence???? Personally I dont want to buy an X anything.

Dont worry Bill (not that you have anything to worry about... ) I think this product will live up to its name. X as in extinct.

Fellow TDR members: Thank You for your concern for me. I want everyone here to know that I am of sound mind and body, and yes I've read all the forums.

Mr Kondolay, sir, you have a terrific product line and the most satisfied loyal customers of any vendor that cares enough about us to post here. You've worked hard for that and I believe you've earned it. I called your shop and spoke to your son last Wednesday. I liked him instantly. He was extremely polite, intelligent, articulate and informative. Both of his parents should be very proud of him. I know I would be. #ad

Now fellow Bombers,... about my decision. "Why the X-Converter???" It's simple. I'm impressed with the POTENTIAL of the design features. It looks good on paper. YES, I know, ..... sometimes paper and reality never converge. However, my instincts about the X-Converter are of a positive note. I admire BD for designing and building something different. I like progress. I don't follow the crowd. I'm waiting to receive and install a new converter that should perform up to and exceed my OWN expectations. Not what someone else wants. Just what "I" want. Percentages be darned. It's my truck. It's that simple. I'm very optimistic about my X-Converter's potential as I have been tring to be about all things in my life. If BD's designers have done their homework correctly it should be one step ahead of the current standard bearer. I have high hopes. (4. 45 @ 335mph would be excellent) Thats just my nature.

New products are the life blood of any enterprise. I'm willing to give any new designs a chance. I just wish the members here would do the same for me. I like walking point. I'm not afraid. IMHO personal attacks between vendors IS unprofessional. Let's please try to keep this thread about products and not personalities. That would better benefit all of us. OKAY, I'm finished. #ad

(Now, this is where anyone that wants to can jump in here - highlight certain parts of this post, re-post it, and then show everyone they have more of a formal education than I do. #ad
Enjoy Enjoy)

Seriously now, I love you guys for wanting to look out for me, I really do. Lets be Friends (and Gentlemen). Thanks and 100% efficiency Best Wishes to all: Life goes on... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .....

Topfuel,
I salute you for being willing to spend the money to try out a new product, especially something that is as costly as a TC. The rest of us can only benefit from your road testing BD's new concept TC. I, for one, hopes it is as good as BD says it is, although if I had to replace my TC today, I would go with DTT.

Hey Cliffy,

Sounds good. Where?

What about Cummins Power Booster get together? Let me know.

I find 98% very hard to believe. Lock up ... with the propper converter, it is not even needed. My banker once told me that figures lie and liars figure. Why the pressure lock on the outside of the valve body ? To sell more stuff. It is always best to fix the problem than to work around it.
As for me, I will go with proven customer service. I do not think that a man like Bill K. who bends over backwards to please his customers would lie just to sell stuff. Besides that just check with all of DTT's satisfied TDR customers.

As soon as my budget allows, my trannie will be DTT all the way.

BD got me with the pressure lock ... . they will not get a second chance.

John

BRoth,
I will be following the outcome, performance and customer satisfaction level of your new TC very closely as I will be replacing my Dunrite with a better TC next year. Right now I would buy DTT, but in a year it may be BD's, IF it is proven to be superior to DTT's. A year should be plenty of time to see how it holds up.

TDCanuck,,,,you were pretty quick to call me ignorant about transmission technology,,,you what my friend,,,you`re right,,,i may not know much about transmission tech,,,BUT,,i sure as hell know about good customer service,,,,which Bill K` DTT has covered by a mile...
Funny,,i hear a lot of posting about bad service and $#^&&^ products from BD,,right here on this forum,, not all the time,,i know they do have some stuff people really like,
On the otherhand all i ever hear about DTT is praises about how great the products and customer service is,,
And you say Bill only modify an existing desing,,,,then why did BD wait for Bill to come out with his TC before making one themselves,,,could it be they saw their TC buisness going down the tube????
Enough badmouthing,,,i agree competition is good for the consumer,,,but let the people know the truth about both companies and let them make the decision.
Myself,,,,i`ll stick with the innovators not the immitators.

-Political Correctness: Well I work at Intel, and you can't fart and not offend someone... quit whinning people... if you have an opinion , back it up with fact or GO HOME!

You guys are funny. You want a TC to imitate a clutch... not going to happen!

My next project... . putting a LENCO Behind my CTD. . now that would be fun

I have the new X stator in my truck now and I can tell you its way way better than the previous model BD had. I also have done some serious stress testing in the last 2 weeks sence the dyno days. The only thing that has failed was the output shaft at a sled pull the weekend before last. I'm also going back to the track tomarrow and will let you know the outcome.
I also will have the opportunity to test the "race" version tc soon.
So the facts are as of right now is there is opptions as far as auto trannies and tc's go guys.

Bob and John... no offense but I know you two have your own agenda as I stated in my E-mails to Bob... tell the board please

Sadly, this is another case where someone has felt compelled to run off at the mouth with less (A LOT LESS) than all the facts. If you are genuinely concerned and/or interested, you will find the answer in the archives STARTING on January 14th, 2001 (the day after my DTT upgrade).

..... just another unsatisfied Suncoast Pro-Loc TC owner trying to pi$$ on someone elses parade. If you remember JB, I tried on AT LEAST several occasions to purchase your Pro-Loc TC in (I believe) December of last year... when you were parting out your Ram.

Cliff and Sam, my DTT 93% TC is efficient enough that with all other things being equal, I could smoke you in a drag race. Period. OBTW, my 47RE would remain in fluid coupling the entire 1,320'.

John... . you D$mn well know the only reason I sold some of my hot rod part is that I was going to sell the truck and had no use for any of it. I guess your memory fails ya when you had a 3rd party contact me about the suncoast when I didnt even had advertised for sale and basically want it for pennys... . As for the converter... I am very happy with my "old" technology ... John correct me here. . did bill do the install for free??? and what was the price of the VB and converter? have a nice day
