OK, so here's something I think about while driving dow the road.

If you were building a Cummins powered Dodge with MPG as the #1 priority, how would you spec it out? What year? Which fuel system? What mods/upgrades?

I was thinking that for pure MPG I would spec out the following:

2000 5spd 3. 54 gear 2wd

DDP 75 HP injectors

Blue Chip special X VP44

PDR cam

Turbo Resource Garrett ball bearing turbo (1)

PSM cold air intake mod with AFE Progaurd 7 filter

Spearco intercooler with upgraded silicon boots

AFE "blade runner" intake

4" MBRP exhaust

FASS w/filters and big line

Banks Big Hoss box w/out wire tap

2/3 drop with slightly shorter LR "E" tires on lightweight aluminum wheels

What have I missed? What would you do different? Think it would do 30 MPG?

I would swap the Big Hoss for a Smarty. Pump your tires up to the MAX also.

You will not get 30MPG, I think you'd get ~25 if you keep it below 60MPH.

When you get it all figured out. . add a tonneau cover and pick up another 10%.

My '02 went from around 22mpg on the highway (65mph & CC) to a little over 24mpg with a tonneau.

It's still getting around 22-23mpg @ 105K miles and OEM injectors.
