Danelle said:hey were thankful to have diesels in the class. YOu should have seen us about 3 years ago begging to get to pull at all. The more the merrier. When they get so many damn diesels that we outnumber them then I am sure it will make them cater to use more but untill then. Be thankful you got to pull... ... ... ... .
I have only organized one diesel pull so far, the Perris event last Oct. The promoter was grateful to have us, charged $10 to enter, did trophy pics, gave us free admission to the fair, let us set the classes and do the tech. It was the same sled and scale, and it was a county fair about the same size. While I don't expect all promoters to be as generous, I at least expect them to be accomodating. There were 4 classes for gas pickups.
Sure I have a great time. But I would have had a better time if they did not mix the Extreme trucks with the Street trucks. Maybe sour grapes? Perhaps, but most the trucks were street mod.
About me getting the results wrong? I ran to the announcers booth, and sat on the stairs hand-copying the list they handed me. Ask John Shipman Motorsports for the official list. I copied what they gave me to the best of my ability.
Oh, and the promoter we worked with in Perris said we can enter for free at any of his events now as long as we organize it and police it ourselves.
