Competition New drive-shaft loops pics.....

I have a 2" leveling kit, right now on there are some 33X12. 5X16. 5 ugly all terrains i forget the brand, but i have a lot of room, like at least 3 inches when turned at the closest point, they look small, but whats the biggest tire i could fit, size wise, i'm looing into 33X14's or a 315 anyone know how bit that tire is, thanks

Aaron

'bout the only thing your going to find in 16. 5 are either some 33x12. 50's or 35x12. 50's. Those are gonna be all terrain most likely too, but BFG makes both A/T & M/T.

Also a lot of off-road tire manufacturers like Interco (Super Swamper's) and Denman (Ground Hawg's) make wide tires in 16. 5's but they won't last as long as a good A/T.

If you want my personal advice, get away from 16. 5's. My truck unfortunately came with them, and I stupidly didn't go down to 16's whenI bought wheels cause my tires were still fairly new... ...

That was 3 years ago and 16. 5's are getting harder to find for a good A/T Terrain every year. BFG's usually cost the most. I'm going with some 16x10's soon and some Mastercraft Courser C/T's (an aggressive A/T tire). Right now I'm running Mastercraft Courser A/T's because they were cheaper, but also have a decent A/T Tread. IMO lose the 16. 5's.

i'm in the same boat you were in, truck came with them, right now i'm just looking for a decent mud tire, so i can go play sometimes, the at's just don't do the job, i did find some super swamper boggers, 33x14x16. 5 that i could use, i was thinkinga bout those, but its so hard to find a decent looking rim, that is 8 lug that you don't have to special order,

I guess this really won't help since my rims are 16's (I did not know our trucks came with 16. 5's). However, I have the 2. 5-inch leveling kit and have been very happy with the BFG 35x12. 5 MT's. I do have some very slight rubbing on the passenger side lower link arm at full lock.

I didn't buy my truck brand new, someone put aftermarket 16. 5's on it, so to answer your question you were right our trucks didn't come with 16. 5's, but u fit 35's with just a leveling kit?

i should be find with the 33's i want then haha

Yeah same boat, someone installed 16. 5's on my truck. I snagged a set of 01. 5 Alloys with STILL NEW Michelins(sp?) for $400 when I got the truck but didn't know about having to clearance the drums and didn't want to so I sold them for $350 DOH!

You will be able to fit 33's with minimal rubbing during articulation. On the street they shouldn't rub, mine didn't.

I WOULD NOT put Boggers on this truck if it is your only mode of transportation. They will wear out EXTREMELY quickly and you'll just end up out major $$$.

Get you some BFG M/T's and you'll be happy. Have a buddy up north who's getting like 40K I think outta them. He balances and rotates them regularly and makes sure the psi is right though. That's the key to good mileage.

With a 2"-2. 5" lift you can clear 35's with minimal rubbing. I've got the skyjacker 2. 5" coils already in the front of my truck for when I get 315's (metric 35") next go around.

well this isn't my only mode of transportation, and i don't drive much, the last car i had for a year and i put a total of 6k miles, and that was going to sac many times, which is like 100 miles away, and to the bay area which is about the same. anyways, i don't drive much, what tires are good for pulling also? bfg muds any good for that? I wouldn't mind them but they don't coem wide enough, i don't like the skinny tire look, they only come about 12. 5's which is what i have, and it loks funny but o well, how wide are the 315X. . X16's

Well about all you are going to find in a radial tire is 12. 50 wide.

You could look into off-road tires like Super Swampers, or Ground Hawgs tires like that for the extra width. Personally a 12. 50 wide tire on a 10" wide rim looks pretty wide. However everybodies opinion varies.

315 75 16 are almost identicle to 35 12. 50 16. 5 in diameter and width. I have the 2" springs and run 315's without any problem. :)

I think i'm just gonna get a 33x15. 5x16. 5 super swamper tsl/sx a friend of mine had those on his yukon, lasted quite a while with no signs of wear and look really good too, another question, who makes good lifts for our truck, the biggest i have found is like 5 inches, and that isnt'[ that big to me, today i saw an all white, 2500 long bed ext cab, had to be about a 10" with 38's, it was big, diesel of course, but looked relaly good, any ideas?

go over to www.pavementsucks.com they have a lot of way up HIGH CTD's over there. The norm on there's are 38's!

Most are running the 4. 5" kit with spacers on top of the coils. If you join up and do some searching however I remember not to long ago they said Skyjacker makes some 7" lift coils!!!
