So will the 5100's work on an unlifted 98. 5 3500 4x4 quad cab? If so, what are the advantages over the yellow and blue regular ones (other than the color)

Thanks

I have the 5100's on my 99 stock height 2500 4x4. 6681's up front, 6682's out back.

Not sure of the difference between the HD's and the Zinc plated ones. They ride good, but that's about all I know.

I just put on the blue/yellow ones on my 95. They are pricey but this was, by far, the best money I've spent on getting this truck to ride good. Bruce

Bruce, what did you notice was better after the install. I just ordered Bilstein shocks for my 2002 4x4 CTD. How would you describe your ride before the new shocks?

Jason, ya know, the generic shocks that I took off I thought were pretty good - only had about 20K miles on them. I've been reading people rave about Ranchos and Bilsteins and thought it would be worth it if they just helped a little. So I anted up for the best ones I could get (about $230) and and don't regret it a bit. After I got the front ones changed I took the old beast for a drive and COULD NOT BELIEVE how much better it felt. Brakes, body roll, overall ride, even the steering (which was just a little sloppy); everything is noticibly better. Its like I took a 100 thousand miles off of the truck. If you think they are too expensive, get just the fronts. I went ahead and did the rears too. If you're going to do one thing for your Dodge, I say, this is the one. :-laf

Bruce, thx for the reply. I am replacing a set of ProComp shocks I installed about a year ago (about 10K). Thought I would save some $$$ as they were about $30/ea. Guess you really get what you pay for in this situation. Can't wait to get these Bilstein's installed.

Bilsteins

I put 5100's on last May and what a difference, I used to bounce all over the road with the frost heave here in wisconsin. Now with the 5100's there is better control and I actually stay in may lane and dont feel like I am on a trampoline. I installed d25's at the same time and SS adjustable trac bar and now my truck drives like a porsche. Well worth the $$. I paid $62 EA from ajusa.com as they price match.

Dave:)

Ok thanks guys. I ordered some for the rear for now (the blue and yellow ones) because one of the bushings is all worn out. If they make a big difference, I will do the front too.
