I do not believe my block heater is working. Does anyone know the resistance of a good block heater element ? On my 99 I could hear the heater when it waws working.
If I remember correctly, the block heater is rated at 750 watts, which would be 19. 2 ohms. When I get home I'll try to remember to check my shop manual when I get home and confirm the wattage. If I find something different, I'll update this.
Dave's numbers are correct. I just measured mine, 19 ohms. I put the clamp-on amp meter on it with it plugged in, and I got 6 amps. That's a little low but I was on the end of a 100' extension cord.
