2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission brake tensioner rod mystery

99 2wd drum rears The tensioner rod doesn't look like the picture in the oem manual. There is no spring to make that 1/4 inch move procedure work. Am I dealing with a cable setup for the rear disc version and need to replace my tensioner with the right one or is there another answer?
