Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Break off screw replacement

Is there a replacement for the break off screw that has either a hex or slotted head? I slid my stock plate forward and I'm not sure the break off screw can handle being removed too many more times.

Just buy a metric bolt.

Leave it out, mine hasnt been in there for at least 40,000 miles and it makes it easier to move the plate.

Any hardware store that has a good sized selection of fasteners should be able to help you out.

I put the new break off screw in that came in the kit. Just didn't tighten it down enough to twist the head off.

I got replacements at the ACE hardware store out of their handy little boxes. (which allows them to charge you about 3 times what they are worth)



You can get either button head that takes an allen wrench or hex head.

Either way you need M6 diameter x 1. 0 thread pitch and 16 or

18 mm long.
