Well your ankle looks like my back except i have 8 screws in my back and a couple rods, now igotta have shoulder surgery march 3rd, left shoulder an im left handed, thats gonna be tough, did a ct scan last month on my back, now got to have an mri on it because they found a fracture midway and said my spinal canal was only 5mm where normal is 17 to 18mm, then they get to cut off a bone spur on heel, i get the feeling i was used too much when i was new!anyway I'm still here an kicking, and gonna continue with disaster relief, Take care, Monte

Hey Monte, I had a spur on my left heel years ago and was scheduled for the surgery. I was still kind of young (read able to move around). The Wife or Daughter were screwing around and I jumped over the coffee table onto a hard ceramic tiled floor, landed on my heel. Hurt like he** for a few minutes but it wound up breaking the spur off and didn't need the surgery. I realize that your not doing any antics like that but had to share my spur remedy. So I understand shoulder surgery is a long term thing and recovery can go on for a very long time. Both of my arm to shoulder sockets cause extreme pain and I cannot seem to get the VA to pay much attention so I will keep going until they are unusable. Good luck with all of your upcoming events.

Wow, but where did the spur go?, VA sent me to an orthopedic surgeon that is not a VA Dr. and did it pretty fast thru triwest healthcare

Hey Monte,

I have heal spurs both heels... I use exercise and stretching to minimize issues. I chose not to have surgery on them as a friend, who was also a runner, had the surgery, but then had issues with scar tissue. The PT I am taking helps me with the spurs and the plantar fasciitis.

Hope your back is doing well... i have bulging disks in my lower back and neck with degenerative disk disease ada bone spur midway of back, no where as severe as yours. Just another thing I manage.

Hope all my friends with injuries and ailments find relief and peace. Sure is a lot of work to achieve.

Cheers, Ron

Friends,

Cleopatra (Cleo) our newest Lab is one year old today and thought I'd share a pic of her and our 11 year old, Sheba.

These two really helped me through my many months of recovery, along with y'all, and mostly my wife Vivian. Coincidently, I sheared my prosthetic ankle 1 Mar last year.

Last visit with surgeon, he mentioned operating on my heal, which I told him let's talk about it next year... I'm just about surgeried out.

Anyhoo,, these dogs give me great pleasure EVERYDAY.

Cheers, Ron

I started getting OLD at 21 on, JUST BITE THE BULLET AND EAT THE PAIN  life's to short to worry about the small stuff

Yup! I deal with the pain pretty OK, the surgeries and long recovery, not so much.

Let's drink to pain... Cheers, Ron

Yeah that's what I hate is these long recoveries, that's why I've been putting this off for a year, then figured I'd get it all done with just one recovery time, guess I was used too much when I was new!!, Take care, Monte
