Hello all, first just let me say that I'm a new member, and this is my first post. I just ordered a 2001. 5 2500QC auto. Ive been looking through all the forums for quite some time to get advice on what to order. I want to thank everybody for the wealth of info I have received. I do have one question though, my dealer called and said my truck was in a D1 status, how do I track the truck through DC? I know I can do it with the rail system. And also, how can I tell which plant the truck will be built at and what day? Thanks Again

Welcome Joel! I see you're a brother FF. It's fun tracking it. You can call the 800# anytime to see what's happening. In theory they can track it by the hour and tell you what's going on - like if it's in frame, paint, etc... In reality, they don't keep their data current, so the tracking is often inaccurate. For example, when I called them on April 10th to check status, I was told mine would be built "next week". It turned out mine was built on April 10th and 11th, so it was actually being built while they told me it would be another week before it would be started. It takes 2 days to build it. If it's built in St. Louis, it'll come by truck all the way to you (since you're in Omaha - I used to live in Omaha too, by the way). If it's built in Mexico, it'll take longer to transport, because it'll come part way by rail. Sometimes they sit for awhile waiting to get on a train car. Your dealer will know which plant it's being built at. The 800# knows that and everything else about it, too. I was even able to find out from the 800# that it was going to come with Michelins instead of Goodyears (much to my relief). Good luck, and have fun playing the waiting game! #ad
