My boss chewed me out for not using spell check

Jr's the man

:) just wanting to know if any body has done some good burnouts with tnrir 3rd gen and if so how long? I,m not talking power braking but just dead stop 2nd, 3rd gear with no brake or just stomping it for you auto trans folks. BTW withEZ on 4 mine will do over 200+ ft posi in 3rd with factory tires.

I grew out of that

I didn't buy my truck to do that sort of bull**** other priorities to spend my money on. Why don't you get in one of those contests where they see how much rubber they can lay and how much they can smoke the tires. Nothing personal but there idiots to me. :-laf

I remember those Challengers very well. When I was in my twenties I had a 69 Dart Swinger 340 4-spd that car would run. Put down many a big block. Thats all we use to do was drag race out on the highway. We had a spot out of town and had a 1/4 mile marked off. Went thru many sets of tires and a clutch cause of that road.

Sorry to hear some are too old to remember the fun in a little smoke show:D Besides stock tires suck and that is a quick way to get new one's.

If you ever wanna see a dually burn out, i will rev that son of a bit** up to 3500 rpms and drop the clutch in second. A damn ferrari won't touch my 60 ft times.....

how about bucking it completely sideways on dry pavement onto a 4 lane highway burning out for at least 200 feet... . I went past it the next day he tire marks are very clear :)

Those other priorities usually consist for me like paying the electric bill, water bill, gas bill, necessities at Wally World, buying groceries, clothing and schooling the kids, paying the taxes (talking one income now, wife had a wreck in 03/03) and usually trying to save some for the unexpected that usually hits you in the a$$ when you least expect it. Milking those casunes go a long way for me, thats the last thing I want to think about is putting new tires on the list.

I do not know about long smokey burnouts, but I found out mashing the pedal to the floor below 35 on a wet street is not a good idea. It will just keep spinning and shifting right on by the torque converter lockup. We did the big sideways dance trying to get on the Interstate empty. Kind of exciting really, to have that much truck fishtailing around at 50 mph. We were even going downhill on an onramp!

killed a acura tonight. He had me off the line but once I drop him "burt" into fifth and let that turbo whirl they didn't know what hit'em

had a couple of european sports sedans trying to pass me on a two lane highway (VW passats etc) earlier today, they had nothing on burt from 65 to 105 unfortunately at that point I ran out of RPM and they passed me at like 120 oh well surprised they were.

I took a warmed over '96 Trans-Am (I'm fuzzy on the exact year) from 20MPH, to 100MPH)

We were dead even at 20MPH, and he downshifted, I was WOT, then Locked the TCC, and when I hit 2nd gear, we were staying about even, and when I hit 3rd, and I started walking away from him. I backed out of it when I was supposed to do my 3-4 shift at ~100-120, and let him keep goin'. He wanted more, but I was saving it for the track. He ran 13. 20's that night, all motor.

Smokey Burnouts? Yah, I do those,, it's hard to get them rolling on a roll, just because I usually don't stay in it long enough,, but if I build 10PSI before letting go of the brakes, the tires will light up, and I hold it back in 2nd with the TCC locked at 3,800RPM and ~60-65MPH, and it doesn't hook up untill ~50MPH. Makes for some lengthy burnouts...

(BTW, that's on my 36x14. 5 Mickey Thompson's and 3. 55 gears)
