Forrest.

How's the twins coming along? CB. I'm waiting for a fuel filter and mounting block. When they get here I will remove this FASS and send you an email. If you've already got one. no sweat. I can get rid of it pretty easily.

Jeremy, let me know if you and Brad are going to go to Redding. If you guys aren't going to go I may stay home and work. If you let me know by friday eve. that will be fine.

Ron,

the twins have been pretty much DONE for a month or two... I just haven't had the time or money for head work and the right clutch! :(

just got a new job and am putting away some cash finally... I should have the cash for clutch and o-rings/studs/etc. pretty soon... only problem? new job requires the truck! :( might not be able to afford the down-time on the truck!

I'm givin' serious consideration to picking up a beater 1st gen as a work truck ;) :D

the 2nd gens really aren't that bad to work on... haven't had the head off of one yet, but it doesn't look THAT bad. the added leg room is well worth the cab forward design for my 6'4" self!!!

Forrest

Thanks Paychk.

My new truck is absolutely cherry! Perfectly clean and runs like a charm. I just need to get some BOMBing done! I can make her power slide around corners on dry pavement... which is pretty cool (couldn't do that in the weenie because of the flatbed) and driving in the rain is even more fun! I spun a 360 today downtown after this morning's rain... SCARY! :D

Yes, the engine compartment is pretty tight... but you learn to work around it... and wear mechanic's gloves to avoid bloody knuckles!

I'm a little weary of this vp-44. If I start going through them, screw it... I'm going to do a p7100 conversion... but I'm not going to go through the 6-8k somolians to do it unless I have some seriouse vp44 blues.

I just can't wait until I get to DTT!!! :D

I think I still have a 12 laying around here. I figured when you sold your truck, you didn't need it. Your new truck probably has one on it. My 2002 motor came with one.

Ok, hold it here... .

Hey Stomp were did you get that quote because it seems not right, unless there is more to the job/parts etc ... this is assuming your head is not cracked and is a candidate for the work.

I figured there was more to the story and there is... . Stomp is getting a fair bit of work done and the numbers he noted are in the bull's eye for value... go for it Jeremy. . I would.

Brad, sorry if this has stirred your pot a bit. . it was NOT meant to do that... that's kinda why I put the above quote in my original post and added the edit to that post today.

Bob.

I tried running 70 psi in my tires just like the person you are describing. I also ended up letting the air down to 55-60 lbs. I don't see what that has to do with head gaskets and studs,...

Ron, my point was not tire pressures it was cylinder heads... . I was saying that one fellow I see every day has run those pressures in his 1st Gen and he was very lucky cause he has not installed studs/o-ring etc. . yet... :D

I tease him that he must be on a first name basis with God to get away with that kind of lunacy... ;):D

In closing, I don't want there to be any issue's with Brad, Stomp or anyone else... I now know more than I did when I originally posted the reply to Stomp and he is getting a great deal on some good work/parts... in fact, hurry up, I want to see the dyno numbers when your done Jeremy... :D:D

pb. .

Hi Stomp,..... Good to meet you at Piers... . impressive dyno sheet... . if that $2800 is Canadian coupon money---maybe not so bad???... . You and Mr. Dorsey give us mostly stock guys something to think about..... Greg
