Well, dunno what happened to the DD truck, but I say it had/has? potential.
Had no idea the "Comp" truck existed before this thread. (But I've been out of the loop. )
I will say that they one of the reasons DD built the truck was for publicity. Can't blame them for that. Didn't Gail Blanks (correct me if I misspelled that Joe

) build a truck for show and go a while back? What happened to it? OH, and look, they spout some of the same stuff seen in this thread:
from the Blanks site:
Banks' business competitors like to talk, but when it came time to actually run at a sanctioned event, they were nowhere to be found.
Is it a trend?
I have great respect for those of you on the cutting edge of diesel performance (well, except for one), especially for those on a beer budget. Problem is you gotta race the champagne guys when the tree drops--if you get the chance.
I also feel the frustration of the folks who are at the track waiting for a "publicity machine" to show up. Frustrating as it is, they don't owe you anything. They built a truck and did a little something with it, and now maybe the story is over.
Fastest is fastest until faster comes along. Faster always does, eventually. If I found myself fastest, I'd enjoy the view while on top and work on spreading the word while I'm there.
So I don't think I'll vote.
