I’ve seen pneumatic valve springs, and they are cool, but at $20,000 a set a little pricey so are carbon carbon valves , at $16oo a piece , hence them being outlawed in most classes

Oh, well they've been the standard thing for F1 since the 1980's--but there we're talking about a vehicle as advanced as anything NASA can cook up. ;)

But I hear the reasoning. Valvetrain is far from being the RPM limiting factor at this level. Just was a thought... and I've had three of those today already. :D

Comp, Who cares what the duramax will rev to? By the time that happens a prepped Cummins would be across the finish line with less rpm and ready to do the next battle... Bring a dustpan and broom for the duramax though ... they have a nasty habit of cracking blocks and shredding rods... ... ... .

Last time I looked I still have the record, and it’s the ball is in others court to take it away. I don't have to run to keep the record unless someone else runs faster.

Ok then, have a little self security, and quietly sit on your pentacle, tentacle, pinnacle... whatever you call it, and wait for someone to knock you off. But for gosh sakes man, do it quietly.

You bring this thread up from the dungeons of TDR yesteryear to renew a challenge cause Keith took a little jab at ya, big deal. All the while forgetting one important fact... YOUR TRUCK'S IN PIECES! Whatever pinnacle you're on it must be a big en cause the parts from that truck is spread all ova da place. :-laf

Say Edge takes the bait... whatcha gonna do? What if they pack that truck up and a week from now are waiting at your local state of the art testing facility with a copy of this thread? All the while using their PR to promote the challenge, and you can't show.

I hear music...

"Greg gonna ride dat donkey, donkey; gonna ride dat donkey donkey; aey gonna ride dat donkey donkey. "

Exactly man, you is gonna look like a donkey. Get that truck back together and lets line em up at Indy. Oo. But if I was you, I'd spend less time typin and more time wrenchin just to make sure I stayed atop that "pentacle. "

Not worried about any thing but a 7 second time slip now,

Everytime I make a goal I have achieved it!

I have a lot of respect for the Keating truck, and it will run faster, I will predict a mid 8 second run next year, but by them I will be running in NHRA Top Sportsman where the minimum dial is 7. 95 to do this I am spending every day, working on two new motors, the long blocks, and turbo’s are identical the fueling is very different.

I have been very open with the build up of these motor, the likes of these diesel drag racing engines have never been seen, maybe they work, maybe that don’t, but a engine dyno is the real test, and I will likely run one of these motors on the pump , till its worn out , before it ever see the frame rails of my truck, if I had had to make any of these races, I would have , but there were no world championships on the line , and I was working at a break neck pace to make Houston if Keating had have gotten a clean pass and got the public record , although in testing like him I have run considerable faster them my public record , and don’t use those times because only a few teams , also testing were there.

weight is the deciding factor , and before any one starts crying I weight less , Edge started with a clean sheet of paper , all five of the diesel chassis truck are just that a purpose built race truck. And when you buy, or commission some one to build you a chassis you have quite a few choices. These trucks are close to $100,000 for a bare chassis, and just like deciding what turbo’s to run of a billet sigma pump to run you can specify what a builder delivers to you door. .

And about the Diesel Power cover, I was also shot for one of the next few issues, but when you put advertising dollars as a leverage point the magazines print fabrications.

I have never missed a call to the line, so the challenge still stands if you have something to run bring it out or refrain from insinuating that you do, and the Edge / DD organization has a more then a few leaks, some leaks are near the top, and I hear a lot, and it doesn’t look promising for any real performance outing, unless they have some new pipe bent, meaning a new chassis

For the people that don’t like my brashness, for this thread, I’m not in this for a popularity contest, I have started to achieve my goals from this truck, in spite of a lot of people trying to thwart my progress in public relation, a new deal is in the works, and will be the deal that really puts diesel in the main stream advertising media market, and in the publics eye. Any one here would fight for something they have worked hard for, and invested themselves in, when some corporation comes along and fabricates a untruth, and uses their propaganda machines advertising dollars to bullies the press in to proclaiming this MEGA MENTAL LIE

Good to know that guy, whoever he is, is doing great at his job. The disinformation train continues - and you continue to buy it?! :-laf

Comp is his own worst enemy.

For a guy that has to work on his truck 16 hours a day, sure has a lot of time to poke the keyboard.

I get to shout it from the mountain top. Because we accomplished the deed, laid down the number , put the rubber to the track. Some pretenders not only wants to claim their just as good , but that they are better , problem is they have had unlimited budget and more then ample time to prove it .

Their avenue of fame is a propaganda campaign that cheapens the whole process. the difference is that I still have the top number , maybe the Mega Mental guys could show the world some of their great technology , or maybe its just that its all a bunch of horse dung.

I have raced this year , I ran the truck in the NHRA Lucas oil series division 4 race in Super Street . I didn’t try to run fast because the index is 10. 90. I tried to enter in Top Sportsman but the rules don’t include Diesel Fuel, they will in 2006 , thanks to Scott Bentz and My self along with Eric Lowe at NHRA . I have race at 4 other races in either Comp or Super Stock. So I have been to the track,

Yes you did and I don't think anyone on here would deny you that, but really your 15 minutes of fame for that are over. Its time to grab some more spotlight by doing something other than coming on here and challenging people to race.

You really blew it with when you DID NOT GET TO THE LINE at IRP after you said you would. No excueses allowed, you did not show.

I am thinking that a call to the fine folks at the tv show "Pinks" is in order. That would make for some interesting tv.

They stopped by our booth at SEMA and said they are looking for a diesel to go heads up as they already have a challenger and are looking for the other one. They may have already found one, but it's worth a shot. :)

Ya know I hope that whoever is the Challenger doesn't have a clue! As Keatings video says in the beginning "Diesels are slow... ... That thing will never do a burnout!"

HA HA HA... . I wanna see some ricerboy get his butt handed to him!

Josh

I love the look, ran a quick 8 race at a track in Wichita Falls Texas the first part of the year , ran a few 5. 20's and the crowd was just shocked that a diesel can run with the gas cars . I expect it to run in the high 4. 90's in the 1/8 this next year .

So Keith, all kidding aside, are you going to come out and play, we are going to be in you back yard the end of March, the truck is on display at a casino , and the its Mopars at the strip . Hope to break in to the 7's there. It would be so cool to see some of that awesome Mega Mental EDGE hp. Maybe you could teach me a thing or two on the track. Show me how it’s done, and maybe all the people that think that your truck is the fastest could put a little money on it , I have a few charities that would really like the chance to gain a extra dollar or two. Ill even make a side bet on the average light, say $1000 same rules , any one on here want to take that one .
