Valve Adj.

The 24 valve engines don't require valve adjustments until 150k miles. Don't know what the spec is though. I'm sure someone will respond as to what the valve lash is to be set to.

If you are going to set them I believe they go at . 010 int. and . 020 exh. and the book gives a range of . 008-. 015 and . 015-. 030. I did mine at 245,000 when I bought it and all were within . 002 of the . 010 and . 020 specs. I think the engine data plate will also tell you. If nobody else posts spec I will check my manual in the morning.

Adjust them

I would not wait till 150k I did mine a while ago around 20k ago and it made a BIG difference how the truck ran, but that is with some added power. Stock you may not feel a difference but I would bet that they are at the top of the spec and adjusting them down to the minimum will make it run better and a little quieter.

My 2002 manual states:

intake:

min. . 006 max . 015 optimal . 010

exhaust:

min. . 015 max . 030 optimal . 020

it also goes on to state that if the lash falls within these ranges (quite a large range in my opinion) that it has no adverse effect of performance, emmissions, mileage, fuel economy blah blah

IF your really into tuning and racing, i'd set them all up really close, but for daily driving i'm going with DC on this one. Stay in the range and you're good to go.

My owners manual is in the truck and it's cold so i'll have to bow to the 150k stated earlier, I thought it was 125k but that's a guess.
