bsappington said:I see in some directions that you should install a bypass with the pusher pump in series with the lift pump, and others don,t. The reason I ask is that when I start my truck I have about 16 psi. After running it for some time the pressure pegs my 30 psi gauge. Now I have been running it that way for about 30,000 miles with no problems however I have this question in the back of my head as to how high the pressure is getting and what will be the effect of this. Is everyone having the same problem without a bypass and can a bypass be found with out putting a bunch of fittings together.

Two things,
1. Make sure your fuel pressure gauge is accurate.
2. Make sure your pusher pump is the 8 psi (4600HP) and not the 18 psi (4601HP).

On edit: The 8 psi pusher is used when you leave the stock pump in and just add a secondary pusher pump. The 18 psi pump is used when you completely remove the stock pump and just run 1 pump.
