This is getting alot like one of the FASS threads we went through, lots of conjecture, but nothing solid

I know it was stated that there was probably not much improvement in HP and TQ, but driveability was much improved. Surely this would show up on a dyno in terms of the power curves produced?

I am not taking a shot at either product, as I would like both to be every bit as good as they are supposed to be. Once the smoke clears and we have some real feed back, I will probably buy both products.

Nomex coveralls on:D

Cheers,

Cam

Thanks!

Thanks for your support guys!

I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!

I still have a big problem. The language... I often find myself trying to say things that I could easily in my language, in English that's another story... . :(

I really would like to be able to talk to you in your language like

( for example ) Dl5treez. Would I know English perfectly, I guess I would've used most of his words!

Thanks!

Another day, another thought...

The CaTCHER increases fuel at the slightest movement of the go peddal. That's also true the other way arround!

When you lift, it cuts fuel so fast that one can bark the turbo where the stock ECM would've not. My turbo has been through that quiet often and is still alive... .

Marco

Marco, I think you have been getting your points across very well. English with a little Italian seasoning... . mmm. . I like it. I have an ECM in the pipe line headed your way.

I too have never had a problem understanding Marco. But I'm sure that he works very hard to make his posts come across that way, like he has done with other endeavors.

I hear him saying that he could post as easily as he codes.

I wonder how long Dan worked on that excellent post. I know that if it was me, it would have been ~1hr, with many changes along the way.

Jay

Great job, Dan..... Very well put.

I think Marco is doing a great job with his English... . Wonder how many here could do as good a job in posting in Marco language?????? Not me... .

That was a good post, Dan. No offense taken - my skin is pretty thick. I sure hope nobody else is loosing sleep over this... I think this thread was awesome - an excellent exchange of viewpoints from all sorts of people...

I think we've all beaten this one into a pulp - but at least all the facts are on the table and folks can come to their own conclusions. You can't expect a 'new' product to come to life without some people bashing it, picking it apart, etc. The TDR provides us a forum to do this. I've seen a few one-sided "Man, this thing is frikken great... " threads that never even begin to explore the other side of things... I like to explore all the angles - even if nobody else wants to bother. I have absolutely nothing to gain by providing the view from the other side of the fence - but somebody has to do it and I don't mind doing it at all.

I talked with a few people since this thread started... some of them tried the original multi-file ECM and others have tried the single-file ECM. Out of respect for the folks that have worked hard on this - I will not comment further.

If you would like to hear from the "horse's mouth" about their experiences with the ECM - PM me and I'll put you in contact with the appropriate people.

Matt

Ok... . then why don't the "horse's mouth" post their experiences here. I would like to hear what they have to say.

Matt,

I'm the guy who has written and tested the software for the Cummins ISB and the D-Max for the European Emissions.

In other words we went to an officaly certifyed (by the European Comunity) test institute, took the engine outta the vehicle and onto an engine test stand. Apllied certification was/is the so called Euro III. That's stuff normally the engine MFR's would do.

In those places you come into contact with the gotha of engine engineers...

That's not the point. The point is the following. Since then EVERY

Cummins or Duramax imported into Europe has had it's ECM send to MARCO which has taken out the orginal Flash prom changed it with a new one with new software. Exactly what I do for the CaTCHER.

I'm not in my office right now so I can't give you yhe exact number but it's in the range of 450. Yes 450 ECM done by the same Marco that talks about the CaTCHER.

Final point, never a single problem with the reliability of those ECM's.

Have I nice weekend, I'm gonna sail. See you on Monday.

Matt,

Thanks, but I'm a big boy and do not need someone looking out for me.

Why is it that someone who only owns 12 Valve trucks is so concerned about what us 24 valve owners purchase for ours.

Sorry this great new product is not compatible with your truck:D

I've had the opportunity to drive a truck with Marco's "upgrade" and am looking forward to being one of the first on the block to have it in my own truck.

Thanks for your concern, but in this case It's not warranted.

TC

Marco: That's some great background information. I never once doubted your abilities or your track record - I just want to get the facts on the table - your last post was very informative. As for the problems - I'm not making any comments here on the TDR. If people want to talk to the "horse's mouth" - I'd be happy to provide the contact information.

tcourse: I'm glad you're a big boy now. That's good to know. Do you get upset when you see a channel on TV with a program you don't like? The same holds true here on the TDR - you don't have to like everything you see... you have the option to not read certain things - just like how you can flip channels on your TV.

Matt

Hey Marco I have a question for you. Has this ecm been tested in any real cold conditions or with winter diesel?? I am worried that when the winter fuel comes back and the weather is real cold I might have problems.

Thanks and keep up the good work.
