Yeah, Dodge uses it's own special ECM with their own programming. I just wish we could have all the cool stuff that the actual cummins ECM has in it.

BTW, which brings me to what I'm wondering.

Marco, have you found anything in the ECM dealing with a PTO (Power Take Off) idle setting? I know a few people a while back were discussing this, and some had said that the Dodge ECM has provisions for this, but no one knows how to make it work.

Hi all,

How was your weekend?

I sure hope you had a nice one!

Mine was a BLAST! First weekend this year with great weather for sailing...

The PTO?

When the PTO "switch" is activated the PCM/ECM both ignore certain OBD routines in order to not set codes. That's all... One needs an aftermarket controller to set the engine to the desired RPM.

For them guys asking about Dyno numbers.

I don't think that the CaTCHER would or will sell based upon dyno numbers. The CaTCHER does not want to be the dyno king.

( Nor could it be, the major fuelling boxes add more top hp than the CaTCHER)

Where the CaTCHER shines is on the road. Be it in the city or the highway, I don't know about anything that makes the truck move faster than the CaTCHER.

Dunno if that makes sense, in fact it sounds odd, but that's the way it is...

Marco

Edit. P. S. Don't buy ECM's with two conectors, they don't work in the Dodge Truck!

Thanks for the tip

TDR is great. I was almost on the hook for a useless ECM. Took the ad for face value and submitted a bid Friday evening. Anyway I sent the seller an e-mail explaining his ECM was not as advertised. Good reminder that E-bay is still buyer beware.

E-mail:

I have done a little research and do not think this ECM will fit a dodge pickup. Dodge's only have ONE plug your pic shows two, it is for an RV or Bus. I am out, Sorry

Reply:

Thank you for your feedback. The mnufacturers catalog showed this to be a cummings turbo diesel ecm, don't know if this was a typo but will take steps to correct future listing.

Thank you , QCParts

Thanks again to the TDR for helping a lazy member out. (too lazy to look up the numbers or even pop the hood and compare!)

All,

I need your help!

I'm desperatly searching for an Cummins Common Rail ECM at an reasonable price.

Maybe someone of you knows about one?

ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks again to the TDR for helping a lazy member out

Chipstein, It seems there were a few problems with the ecm going through the process of getting to where the ecm is today.

A TDR Member did get "left on the side of the road" with an ecm that failed.

"The ecm was given free to that member for testing purpose"

The ecm in question as I hear it was one that was reflashed many times and had some solder problems .

As I see it the program is in a different league.

Yes, most members are buying an extra ecm to be reflashed, no one tried to say come on and flash your stock ecm.

This program is a step a head of the bombing curve, most members know the risks and rewards of "BOMBing"

This is just my view on the topic 16-17 pages later.

I am willing to answer any and all questions honestly.

I have found ecms that I am selling and I am selling the reflash as Doug has allowed me the privelage of offering the upgrade to anyone wanting to purchase.

No hard sell , no lies , just the facts as see "I" see it.

Come drive my trucks, I offer it to anyone wanting to feel the upgrade without any cost.

There is a member coming up from the bay area this month, he has no shown to interest in the product.

But I will let him drive my truck and post his unbiased opinion , If he wishes to drive it.

This is my opinion and no one else.

Chip... . come on over :D Drive it and tell all :)

my phone number and email address is in my profile, and I even have a vendor affilliation

no smoke . . no mirrors

Is there other people with this software

This could not be the same thing, but sounds like it. I hade a cummins engeneer hook up a labtop to by truck and he re progeamed a buntch of stuff, like the boost will come in at 1200-1300 rpm's, went 4" with timing set the fuel up and not all sure what else. And it runs a heack of alot better and smokes bad now:D I only have bd3 injectors in my truck and the clutch wasent slipping, but now it will. I just thought this may be the same deal. Not trying to start trouble just asking. Justin

Hey Bob, Can you bring a truck over here to "Cheeseville" so I can drive one?:-laf

It sucks being in the middle of nowhere.

Darkhorse, I expect a full report when you get yours in. :D :p

I'm trying to be patient but it an't easy. My extra ECM left the Chicago area on a UPS truck about an hour & a half ago, on it's way to Doug. He'll send it to Marco in Italy & tells me it's about a two week turnaround. When it's installed, I'll post my impressions right here.

Cool, thanks Bob. That is about what I figured. I would take you up on that offer but right now twins are far more important than more fuel. ;)

I just hope the record is clear, all answers will be answered honestly with no bs.

Matt raised a concern which I hope was answered .

If not then ask away.

is that "twins" as in identical offspring? If so, they had better come before more fuel... ;)

Yes that can be done, but most members want to keep the stock ecm for back up reasons
