CB mounts

Give Rip a call at source automotive , htey are under misc called BGBW wunder mounts. There are photo's. As for the antenna, depends if permanent or temporary. Mine is mounted on left side of hood even with radio antennae using firestik s/s hood mount and existing fender bolt and firestik antenna.

hope this helps

Here is a place. The EXT speaker is under the driver seat, Wire right into power seat. MAKE SURE YOU USE A FUSE BETWEEN POWER SEAT AND C/B.

Midnight,

I have two cophased antennas on the box using a Firestik pocket mount that works with the tonneau cover. I have the Cobra CB with the controls in the microphone and the box fits under the console out of sight. I got that idea from my friend Dean Upson. You are welcome to pop over for a look see if you like.

The CB is a Cobra all in one hand held unit. The box is mounted under the console.

Works very well, compact, out of the way and good quality

Here's how I have my co-phased antennas mounted. They're Wilson antennas on Firestik stainless stake-pocket mounts, and using Firestik Fire-Ring cables to keep the part under the antenna low profile. These work with or without my topper installed (the double-bulb seal works nicely over the mount and coax).

Another idea...

As soon as I get some time and I have the interior pulled out AGAIN :{ ... I am going to fab up a mount for my Cobra in that pocket spot to the right of the ashtray... the built in spkr will work and the angle it will sit will be just right for me. I hope. LOL

You must have an automatic? I have a 6speed and as you can see from the pic the box is totally concealed UNDER the console

It looks like Dean's is a manual also. The difference is his unit is mounted were a 4x4 shifter would come up through

CB info

Midnight,

I have the automatic in my truck. I made my own bracket and bolted it to my center seat bracet. I run a magnet mount Wilson 5000 antena. I ran my antena wire under the carpet, down the side and up the back all under the plastic. I then made a small notch in the 3rd tail light and ran it out the back of the truck. My antena sets on the top of my cab in the rear. The only part of the antena that shows in a 1 foot section.

What is the model number of the Cobra and where did you get it.

Cannot locate one over here in the sticks. :(

I have my old Uniden but it was about shot when I took it out of the 95.

Wife asked me I wanted for Christmas sooooo thought the Cobra may be be a nice gift from Santa. :D

Antenna is a Wilson 4' Flex, on a Firestick Stakehole mount.

CB is a POS RS unit, not near as good as what I usually run, but it fit, and it was cheap, they were closing them out.

The model he has is the Cobra 75 WX ST. I had one before, and they are VERY hard to hear. I will admit that I'm a little hard of hearing, but they are extremely hard to understand, even in our '99 Cherokee it was difficult to hear, and it was much quieter than our CTD.

That's the radio I use, too, mounted under the console as Dean showed. I absolutely use it with an external speaker, though--the speaker in the mike just doesn't cut it. For now, I just lay the speaker up on the center armrest, or sometimes use the headrest to clamp it between it and the top of the seatback--haven't figured out a way to permanently mount it close to the ear yet.
