I would like to thank all those who have purchased my brackets the past couple of years. I had stopped production earlier this year but because of the demand I continued making them. No more:( Material prices have increased as well as postage costs. I was able to ship a bracket any where in the US at a set price. Now because of the zoning of Priority mail a package across the country has doubled. Even Parcel post has increased. Being small operation I feel that a certain item is only worth a certain dollar value. Once that value is exceeded than the product is no longer such a good deal. I feel that the product I make is only worth a certain amount and adding in all the factors that value has been surpassed. IMHO. Thank you again.

Sorry to hear that Mike. .

Why is it that the small guys always get squeezed out?#@$%!

I hope you can resume as it appears to be a product in demand.

Mike,

I think your mount is a very useful and well thought-out and made product - and have stated such every chance I get in the forums - hopefully this has sent some orders your way :).

Anyway, I understand your points, but you may want to consider letting market forces work and take their natural course. What I mean is, your own production costs have increased, so like any other business would do, a price increase to the end user would become necessary to maintain whatever profit margin you require. If the end users feel the price no longer justifies the utility of the product, then you'll know by the demand change.

Granted, these mounts are not so complicated that the average person couldn't make their own, but in my case (and I'm sure there are others of the same opinion), I look at it from an opportunity cost perspective - that is, I can make more money by concentrating on what I do for a living, rather than making little parts for my vehicles. When I come across "nifty" products like your CB mount, it's more efficient for me to just buy it for what I consider a reasonable price and plop it in, as opposed to spending days making it.

Just my $. 02.

Ditto what Drag Racer said. Your mount is great and I thought quite reasonably priced when I got mine early last year. Thanks for working it up.

sorry to here this kind of news. i am glad i have my mount already. even with the increased cost of materials and shipping, i think that the mount would be worth the money imo. if you can no longer cover the cost of your labor then i agree to stop. if people are still willing to pay the money for the product then make them. if you just do not want to make them anymore then this would be a good time to get out and i think that all would understand. thanks again for a great product!:)

Ditto Drag Racer

Very well stated D. R. I know very well about market forces. Michael, if you decide to "retire" from the mount business for good, more power to you, enjoy. Hell, patent and sell your design to a high volume production outfit and retire in style :D . If you stay in it in the future, I'll bet the market will support a necessary price increase. Either way, I'm glad I have one:D and want to thank you and wish you well..... Jim G.

Michael, Your mount is one of the few items I have ever purchased as after market add ons that fit perfectly without me having to make alterations or adjustments to use them. You made a great mount. Being a supplier of a much needed part, your efforts and product will be missed. Thanks for building mine.

How much was it sold for?
