Is there anyone on the site that has tried to run a new RANGER RCI-2970N2

with one of them GENOES CB BRACKET? Is there enough room ? Or do you know of some other way to mount it? Do you have any pictures?

Thank you

I don't know if this helps but I have a cobra 29 and it works great. Once the bracket is mounted, you have to drill the holes in it to bount the Ranger bracket. I cannot imagine there being a CB in existance that would not work. There is extra room to mount other stuff. I will post pictures as soon as I can.

yep I have been around radio/scanners since back in the 1960s. The new RCI 2970N2 is a lot bigger then the 29 ( have three ) so that is why I was just asking to see any pictures and anyone that might have one in use in a 2000 RAM w/5 speed.

Thank you very much for your answer.

they are the same size as the big Galaxy and Connex Radios. . I haven't installed a bracket, I just throw my Galaxy DX99V in the truck as needed...

Sorry it took so long, but here's the photo. Sorry about the picture quality. The bracket extends flush with the outside of the pic and the same distance on the other side. It is farely close to the cup holder. I don't know if it would interfere with the manual shifter. Good luck.

I've mounted my Connex and older Ranger(I can't remember the model numbers at my desk), using my own made mount, which is pretty much the same thing as the Geno's mount. The biggest thing I see with the Geno's mount, is that is may not be long enough. The heat sinks on the back of the 10-meters make it mandatory that they sit a little higher than any of the regular CBs. Mounting it higher will make the radio vibrate a little more, and the control knobs will be above the center seat... . no biggee if you don't have someone riding center. I believe the Geno mount is drilled, but not where you will need the holes for the Ranger.
