2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Center console lid

The other day I was giving the truck a good cleaning and I lifted the center console up so I could clean under it. I guess I didn't have the lid "clicked" into place. As the console got close to vertical, the lid swung down toward the back seat. Yep, you guessed it. SNAP! The lid landed in the back seat. The plastic piano hinge had been self destructing over the years, now it has totaly disconnected. Can I get just a lid or do I have to buy a new console?

I can still set the lid on and click it into place, but lifting it vertical is out of the question.



Any ideas? I searched the TDR and didn't find much info.

Wow - almost had that happen years ago. In fact the hatch cover remains a mystery to me - due to worn upholstery I would replace mine with a nice hardwood cover IF I could fixure how to sagely remove it!! Would a deep piano hinge as from a woodworkers supply be useable??

watch ebay guys, there some cheap center consoles right now and I will have couple 4 sale soon as I get done re doing my interior, they seem to sell for about a 100 bucks.
