Last summer I started getting a "Check Gauges" alert (Red light on dash and a "dong" sound) every now and then. Then it went away for about 4 months. Recently it started doing it again. I had the TSB 04-008-03 reflash done at a cost of $101 but that did not solve the problem. #@$%!

It is really aggravating when sometimes it happens over and over again in a short period. One time it must have happened at least 40 times while going about 25 miles.

Any ideas?

Glenn

Check for the codes stored by turning your ign on, off, on, off, on within 5 seconds and read the code(s) displayed in the odometer readout.

Oops. I got the TSB number wrong. I should have written 08-004-03. Anyway, I had the "reflash" done at a local Dodge dealer but I still get the "Check Gauges" alert.

I did a code check by turning the ignition key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON. It reads P0516. A Google Search says that is "Battery Temperature Sensor Low".

Now what?

Thanks,

Glenn

That's whats causing your code more than likely and it was a common problem on 03's.
You can either ignore it or replace the sensor which "I think" (could be wrong) is under the drivers side battery. Throughout the years they moved them enough times that I forgot where they were.
