check gauges lite comes on and off

Anyone get this lite and all gauges are good I have had it come on a few times on me as I am driving it comes on for just a few seconds and then gose off I have had this happen on my old 98 12 valve but my oil pressure dropped at stops but this ain't the same on my 03 it happens when I am driving down the highway once with cruze and without like I said good volts temp under half and oil a little over half and smarty is on level 3 anyone think of what might be going out on truck it has 172000 miles on it thanks for all your help

Ahhhh, I'm interested in this too... . Every once in a while I get a quick brief flicker of the check guages light... . I have the same outcome, all guages are fine when it happens... Usually at highway speeds... . Haven't worried about it much but have always been curious...

early on with my truck they did a ecm reprogram/update that took care of this issue on my truck. also check the alt voltage. when i had an issue with a cracked termanal on the big wire on the back of the alt. the voltage would drop and the gauge light came on first and then the rest of the gauges whent craay.

That's when mine dose it too Ron! Ahh well I ain't going to let the dealer flash my truck so guess I will just keep it that way had a buddy of mine had his 03 flashed never ran as good sence and bad fuel economy I am pulling 24mpg out of mine right now well thanks for the info Aaron

The previous owner of my truck had a reflash of some sort done because the sticker is on the radiator support from dodge listing the reflash number... . I have checked all battery and ground connections and done voltage drops on all the cables..... Everything tests out good..... Who knows, just funny to hear someone else post about this too..... I thought my truck just had a gremlin or too... ... Truck runs Great and knocks down around 19 mpg... ... Can't complain

My 03 also does it.

My '03 does it too. Last summer during a trip it seemed to happen once or twice a day for a couple of weeks. Then it stopped doing it. Each time it happened I checked my gauges and they all indicated normal.

It had not happened for about 3 months until this morning. It did it 9 times in 3. 8 miles.

My '98 did it several times, then the batteries failed. New batteries, no more light. Coincidence?

Mine did it too when it was new. Had the reflash done and stopped the light, the extra "chime" and the occasional "--" on the overhead. It made no difference to performance or MPG.
