On the way home tonight my 01' 3500's clutch started to slip. It only happens if I get on it but I think it's a sign of the clutch going out altogether. Am I correct? Or is there some sort of adjustment fix I am unaware of?

So if I have to get the clutch replaced, what brand of aftermarket upgrade should I go with? Over the next 4-5 years, I am budgeting for a BOMB goal of up to 800 HP and 1000 HP so I might as well go with the modified clutch now, right? Or am I getting a little ahead of myself. Are they big bucks?

Thus far all I have done is guages and a Superchip. The next items I was planning on in order is: 1) BHAF/ AFE setup 2) 4" Exhaust 3) Edge Comp.

If I upgrade the clutch now will it be like putting the cart before the horse?

Thanks for the help.

I have an autotrans, But the main Stick buzz around here is SB Clutch. Google them up, then call them. They have a wide selection of Clutches from mild to Wild :) Moose00

Thanks guys. I appreciate the advice.

I will take y'alls suggestions and upgrade. Seems to me most prefer South Bend. Now if I can only get my diesel mech to fit me in to his busy sched.

Ive got the clutch in my sig and its almost as smooth as the centerforce i took out and with a 4000 plate load is good for 800-900 HP... and it is the quietest DD ive ever heard. Call up Terry and tell him Roy told you about his clutches and he will cut you a good deal

I'd replace the clutch sooner rather than later. The more it slips, the greater the chances of having heat affected zones and thermal cracks on the flywheel that would render it unserviceable.

You must have a deep wallet!

Oh and by the way the HO 6 speed ETH pumps are only good for ~550HP.

Deep Wallet? Yeah, I wish. I'm in a business that has been pummled by high oil prices. Which is why it will take me 3-4 years to reach that kind of HP... cause I'll have to save and pay as I go.

What are ETH pumps? Can I upgrade the pumps to get more HP?
